Congrats to Team Fuzion and Shrimp Shack Shooters getting across the finish line for Manaforge: Omega, both taking down Heroic Dimensius this week. The War Within Race to CORE First is now officially over. Great work to all the teams!

Sora is pretty interesting- I find it oddly refreshing that at the very least I _know_ everything is AI generated on it. … Does everyone else’s “for you” page just show them MLK Jr. and Jake Paul videos? Am I stuck in some sort of weird algorithm?

The Apple Watch series 11 has a pretty impressive battery life! Full charged yesterday morning before walking the boy to school, it’s currently at 53%.

Got my Switch 2! Home by 2AM... Rather fitting I guess? Booted up everyone's favourite: Pokemon Scarlet to see just how "performance improved" it is... 60 fps everywhere. Pretty impressive! Good thing I just had to buy a new console to get more than 15-20 fps (a generous estimate)...

Decided I'm going to a midnight release for the Switch 2... I've literally never been to a midnight release for anything before. Not entirely sure what to expect.

This will be super cool when it's fully implemented. Definitely going to keep my eye on it!

I've been refactoring/improving some things in a theming framework I've been creating... Today I went from feeling productive, to feeling like I've over thought a problem and I've been wasting my time for months, back to feeling super accomplished... Does anyone else feel like that sometimes?

As I enter into the last day of a training course I am giving, I find myself overjoyed that I will not have to look at another slide again for the next while... I'm so tired of slides. Today there will be no slides! All hands on! All day! No exceptions!... Except for the feedback slides. Dang it.

I especially can't wait to see @katannshaw.bsky.social's keynote video... I was stuck on booth duty and had to miss it! 👎 #DrupalCampOttawa #DrupalCamp #Drupal

Had a great time at #DrupalCampOttawa yesterday! Lots of interesting talks- especially from @cmintyfresh.ca! My only regret is I couldn't see all the tracks! I'll just have to catch up when the videos are posted on DrupalYOW's YouTube page! #DrupalCamp #Drupal

At #DrupalCampOttawa... Wearing pants that I apparently haven't worn since #VueConfTO. I found these in my back pocket @thealexlichter.com?

Tomorrow's the big day #DrupalCampOttawa! Tickets are sold out- it's gonna be an exciting time!

I'll be at #DrupalCampOttawa next Friday! Planning on taking part in the "unconference" portion of the day! drupalcampottawa.com/en

So close! Literally 1 second away from victory...

If all else fails... Maybe I just make my own. With TipTap... And GitHub.

I'm back to Notion after my brief test of AFFiNE. Not a huge fan of what seems like arbitrary limits on storage use? It's self host... It's storage I own. What? Next I'm going to check out Docs! docs.numerique.gouv.fr Open source and backed by French and German governments. Sounds interesting.

Upgrading the home server today! I've been hitting ~95% usage of the 32GB that's in there lately. Hopefully 64 will do for a while.

So in an attempt to reduce monthly subscription fees I'm trying out AFFiNE, a competitor to Notion that you can self-host. affine.pro I've only transferred over a few pages, but it looks pretty cool! The lack of support for callout blocks is unfortunate though. Overall it looks promising!

I've been playing around with Copilot Next Edit Suggestions in VSCode this week. It's very inconsistent. It either suggests the exact thing I was going to change and is incredible, or just makes up new code to insert instead of editing anything at all and is in the way. Standard AI experience 😆

Love it!

First time making a matcha latte in like 8 months... Looks terrible. Tastes good though!

Ottawa Fire Services have responded to numerous calls over the past day for Carbon Monoxide inside the home due to the snow covering the hot water/furnace vents outside. Please be vigilant and take the time to go outside to check & please test your carbon monoxide alarms. #OttNews

They look so happy to be out there!... Right?

About to take my 4-year-old and my dog for a walk in a blizzard... What could go wrong?

Proof that we are all just a sentence away from our own personal ‘Who’s On First’.

None of the existing applications were anywhere near accessible, so I figure that should be a focus for this. Maybe the pattern grid can be in a table? Not sure yet. I'll need to think on this. Think I should use #vuejs to make it ultimately.

My wife was getting frustrated with some of the online knitting/crochet pattern creators being pay walled, so I told her I could probably make something... So anyways I threw together a PoC in an hour or so. github.com/NickDJM/wip-...

Does anyone else's 4-year-old try to colour coordinate their clothes?

Who has walking pneumonia?... Not this guy! 🎉 Who has a viral infection triggering asthma attacks?... This guy... 😔 Gosh dang it...

Have to wait 2 and a half hours for a chest x-ray... What better way to pass the time than with a croissant and some matcha?

I have been told by multiple people I should start some sort of blog where I review common accessibility/UX issues with websites- not to be negative, just to bring awareness to common oversights/habits. It came up at work today and I think I'm now making a presentation on the subject for May...

Just won my first Plunderstorm match ever. I'd like to say it was skill, but I saw no one for the entire match until the other 2 remaining players were having at it... Once they were both really low I jumped out and destroyed them like the absolute n00bs they were 😎. #coreguild #wow #plunderstorm

This was all so I could hook into Drupal's Social API initiative with another new project that needs tests and CI. www.drupal.org/project/soci... I have a lot of test writing in my future...

Made a PHP League OAuth Provider for the first time today. I was told it would be complicated. Still need to write some tests and CI, but it was quite straightforward. packagist.org/packages/nic...

@scottjohnson.zip just got my gelatinous kirb!

Popcorn, drinks, sour Skittles, and heated seats 😲! We're ready!

About to see Wicked with the beautiful @cmintyfresh.ca for her birthday! It's been nice having a night out without a child...

Last night I had a session 0 for my first ever D&D 5e game where I am a player! I'm so excited! Did I just jinx this? Is this game no longer going to happen?... Crap...

RIP Drupal 7. You will be remembered fondly. www.drupal.org/psa-2025-01-06

I would like to share this website I discovered through CSS Tricks a while back. We show it to clients all the time. I hope, if you are not aware of it, that it helps you in your future endeavours. shouldiuseacarousel.com #webdev #webdesign

I don't have enough characters to tag everyone specifically, but thank you to the members of CORE Within and everyone in @coreguild.gg for creating a gaming group that is an absolute pleasure to be part of! We did great tonight, friends! Excellent job!

I always joke about FedEx kicking and stepping on packages... But come on.

Hope everyone had a wonderful first day of 2025! I cleaned out under my basement stairs... I think I have like 6 bags of stuff to donate to various places. I plan on making a concerted effort this year to not hold on to things "just because"... We'll see how well that goes over with the boy 😅

Why do Christmas lights come with a "seizure mode" setting? Do people legitimately use this option? I legitimately want to know.

Four year olds are really fun, adorable, and infuriating all at the same time.

Son: I'm not having a shower! Me: You haven't showered in 3 days. Yes you are. Son: Fine! I'm going to wash and then. Be. Done! Me: Sounds good. 15 minutes later... Me: Are you ready to get out of the shower? Son: No! ... 😐

Usually I'm a fan of teas where you have your tea leaves and that's it- maybe some dried fruit or mint if you're feeling adventurous... But there's just something about this tea that makes it hard to put down. Can't put my finger on it... Maybe it's the large amount of chocolate in it... 🤔

Anyone else been up since 4 with a 4-year-old?

Had to take this guy to the ER yesterday... Current theory is he pulled a muscle in his back and it's pinching a nerve. Now he's high on muscle relaxants.
