One of the reasons we keep needing more data centres is the ever increasing use of 1) AI to produce crappy memes and other slop and 2) the need to provide cloud storage for the never ending photos we take on our phones and the never ending emails that we never read or delete….

Microsoft is planning to build three massive AI data centres in Leeds. It’ll drain thousands of litres of water from the River Aire and become the city's biggest carbon emitter. We can still stop the council's sign-off, but we need more voices. Add your name: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/pr...

Because we don’t/can’t see the consequence of the energy and water needed for the storage of the 3 identical pictures we’ve taken of a fancy breakfast we keep doing it. Over and over and over again. When there was a direct link to film and processing people didn’t take hundreds of photos.

How did they rate the song suggested? Listen and see! Time to buy them another coffee and see where that gets me 😂

Kev and Randy are starting to suspect they've been duped into producing a Young and Dangerous Podcast! This week we're covering the melancholic ballad "Somebody New", courtesy of our pal Midwife Nicki. 🍎https://tinyurl.com/36brenwr 🟢https://tinyurl.com/52js7ch2 🟨https://go.goodpods.com/2FzFGt

Why does the Nun put buddy to bed in just a nappy in the middle of winter??? And how, exactly did he get the cot side down? Not very reliable orphanage managers if you ask me #christmasmoviequestions #elf #safeguardingreferral

Your IKEA product name is your name spelled backwards with an umlaut. I am Ikcin (I don’t know how to get an umlaut) and I am a wall hanging bathroom organiser

Your IKEA product name is your name spelled backwards with an Umlaut. Hi, I am Rëteid. I don't know what I am, really, I guess you and I have to find out together. (Yes, I know, ë is not an Umlaut)

I’ve stumbled on one of my favourite films from my childhood A Matter of Life and Death. Apart from the dated colours and music, and the staged acting of its time, it still stands up as a terrific story. It is a teeny bit jingoistic though 😂

Of course there’s enough money. Time to trot out my favourite number factoid. One million seconds is 11 days. One BILLION seconds is 31 YEARS Just because they sound similar doesn’t mean they are similar…

Repost if you believe there is enough money to go around - and that the real issue is billionaires greed and political corruption.

Fantastic thread here for people who like London, trains, art and synchronicity.
