🔴 NickRPGreen - Live Now 🔴

We've got a schedule for event #2! As much as I'm obviously excited to be closing the event with my first marathon run of MGS4, I'm far more excited to meet these fantastic runners and work alongside this awesome team again. I couldn't be more grateful for the support we're getting!

A holiday happy birthday to my awesome little Pokemon trainer! Alex turned 3 yesterday, how the time has flown by. We've had a wonderful week on our cruise and he loves his new starter Charmander! Sad to be off the boat, but got a lot of memories and some special photos to share soon!

HOLIDAY TIME! Heidi, Alex and myself are off on a cruise around Spain! This does mean I am pretty much off the grid for the next 7 days, so STUK/PAT/ASC/GDQ support from me is unavailable till next Sunday. Will have plenty more photos to share when I'm back!

Picked out some stills from the video of yesterday's speedrun panel at Sheffield Anime & Gaming Con. Give us a shout if I mentioned your favourite marathon! 😍 Definitely up for doing this again; the folks at the convention have invited me to future events. Really pleased it was so well received. 🥰

Fantastic panel, thoroughly enjoyed it. Some really good questions and I even got asked for an autograph and a photo!

Fast Travel is live, and for once I'm the one doing the travelling! Come check out Rocky Horror, Bears in Space and Duck Detective! twitch.tv/gamesdonequick

If you haven't already heard, Apel found ANOTHER MGS4 skip - not as impactful as FROGS skip, but still impressive nonetheless. Here's me landing it for the first time: youtube.com/shorts/nFOzz...

Have you checked out the new Metal Gear Solid 4 OOB skip yet? Nope. Well I've now got you covered with a detailed tutorial ready to get anyone started with it: youtu.be/5DDOTsN3gGo

Fast Travel's theme this week is Home Away From Home, with three runners who've made significant moves away from their home counties. Join @alaracutie.bsky.social, @danejerus.bsky.social and @selcouthmind.bsky.social for some cosy cartoon fun, hosted by me of course but from a mystery location... 🤔🛫

I'm at Sheffield Anime & Gaming Con this Saturday to deliver a panel on speedrunning, as well as promote @albionspeedrun.co.uk's marathon in Brighton. Last time I did this, it was a small conference room. Only recently learnt I'm on the MAIN STAGE for Sheffield. *GULP*

Did a tech test at a local school today and trust me when I say we're are in such a better position that we were at Manchester. I can promise lag free audio for all runners and commentators this time round - so come check out the upgrade! PS, there's a massive audio mixer now, it's really cool.

Just when I decide to take a break, Apel only goes and finds a brand new Advent Palace skip in MGS4. GUesS we'RE BACk on TUeSdAY GUyS!? www.youtube.com/shorts/q53_D...

Raising money for SpecialEffect, hanging out with other runners and hopefully showing off another Metal Gear run? Oh it's gonna be awesome! If you're a UK based speedrunner and you've got a run you'd love to show off to a live audience, please consider submitting. It'd be awesome to have you there!

It's a new world record! My "Recession Route" for MGS4 Liquid Easy New Game has triumphed, proving you don't need those dollar dollar Drebin Points to be fast. Check out the run here: youtu.be/QvDVJ3wlf2Q

World record is one thing, but finally getting the Disc Swap Codec skip into a run is easily the highlight of tonight's stream! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldvW...

Still a little short on submissions, so I'm going to extend this one to anyone who's made a significant move - so that could be to a different state or region of their country. Americans eligible for a Fast Travel episode? It happens!

Have just shared the latest STUK Broadcast Package update with the folks actively using it. This should now be the version that goes public once I've figured out exactly how I can host it on GitHub. Still need to update the supporting docs too, but that'll likely be an ongoing thing for a while.

For reasons that will be made clear on the episode, for my next GDQ Hotfix Fast Travel episode on 9th Oct, I'm looking for speedrunners who have emigrated (perm or temp) to show off their awesome speedruns! Ideally platformer/metroidvania/retro vibes, but happy to consider anything. DMs open!

FAST TRAVEL IS BACK! We're live with a Luxembourg themed episode, featuring Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Metroid Dread! twitch.tv/gamesdonequick

Would've been world record if not for the first room of Act V! Lost 3 MINUTES, which would've smashed the current record. So I guess I'm not done with MGS4 LE NG yet, cause I ain't letting that go!

🔴 The NickRPStream is live with Final stream of MGS4 New Game Speedruns - gotta get that leaderboard run! Come check out some Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots over at https://twitch.tv/nickrpgreen & https://youtube.com/nickrpgreen/streams

Can't wait to head to Brighton in November and meet a whole new group of UK speedrunners. If that's something you'd love to do too, then get your submissions in before they close!

v1.0 is now live! Made the final tweaks needed to ensure it's fit for purpose (New Game + needed some extra work to ensure the timer starts at 0), just needs testing now. Got some more splits planned, plus if I can add Portable Ops Plus to make it one ASL, that'd be handy. github.com/NickRPGreen/...

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops has a working autosplitter now. Still an early build, very basic splits and only fully works on the EU version of the game. But I'm pretty pleased to already have my first PSP autosplitter out for testing.

Been trying a new route for MGS4 New Game on Liquid Easy where you don't farm DP for the M82A2. It requires a different approach for defeating Raging Raven. I developed this method instead - a combination of the Javelin and PKM, and well, here's how fast it can be! www.twitch.tv/nickrpgreen/...
