I know I'm super late to this train but holy damn the new Avatar Aang movie was one of the most beautiful pieces of art and animation I have ever seen. Not a single frame in the entire movie wasn't a masterpiece. So rich, so full of love for detail and the craft.

I'm honestly so frustrated with Twitter.... every time I try posting my art there it flags me as "inauthentic" and buries it... It's so sad. The site is full of awfulness in many corners, I'm just a lil artist wanting to share art...

There is something about the AI discourse that really pushes me over the edge mentally beyond the obvious art and thought theft and environmental implications... What I TRULY do not understand is this: Do we REALLY want to live in a world made and homogenized by even just the tough of AI...?

My greatest fear is for AI to erode all that and more. I discovered a little new musical artist on Tiktok this week who had shown a concept for a song on her page and people loved it so now she's producing and recording it. But it will take some time to do that of course.

And there are people in her comments who are so impatient and brainwashed by AI that they are saying that they used/are going to use AI with her snippet of the song to finish it so they can listen to it before it's released and I think that is horrifying and evil beyond words.

What freaks me out the MOST about AI is not the AI itself but how mindlessly people engage with it and use it. It makes me feel 100% insane to be surrounded by so many people who see no problem in giving all these important, beautiful parts of our lives away to a non-sentient clanker instantly.

I want to struggle with my thoughts, my art, my writing, my creations. I want people to have thoughts about it. I want to work with others to make them great. I want to be wrong 20 times before I get it right and I want to make things with my own two hands and my own mind. AI takes all of that.

Like, the thing that truly irks me is that all the things promised by AI to be made "faster and better" are things that I don't WANT to be faster and are truly not made better by cutting humans out of the process. Humans ARE what makes all the things around us worthwhile, and only humans.

I don't want to live in a friction-less world where an AI tells me all my ideas are brilliant and perfect and then makes them without any of the beautiful, important struggles of learning, trying, exchanging with others, dealing with the criticism of it... Like, that's what matters to me.
