Building AI agents that survive production: evals, guardrails, escalation queues, cost-per-success. Rust + Raspberry Pi/Arduino tinkerer. nitishagar.github.io/res-blog

Multi-agent systems are distributed systems, and most of the old lessons carry over: timeouts, retries, partial failure, ordering. The new twist is a component that can answer the same request two different ways. Which microservices habit has helped your agents most?

Stop tuning the prompt. The eval is the feature. If you can't replay last week's traces against today's harness and diff the decisions, every prompt change is a vibe check with a deploy button.

Our audit agent went 3 weeks without escalating once. Then a spot-check found 11 bad approvals. "Ask if unsure" isn't an escalation path. Gate actions by risk tier, escalate async, staff the queue, and turn every human answer into an eval case. #AI #AgenticAI #AIDevelopment #SoftwareDevelopment

The hard part of production AI agents isn’t the prompt or framework—it’s that multi-step loops break every standard deploy pipeline. An agent isn’t a 50ms web request; it’s a long-running background job. 4 infrastructure scars from scaling agent fleets in production: 🧵

Small agents deploy like microservices. Big monolithic agents deploy like incidents. Build boring, resilient distributed systems primitives so your agent can survive a Tuesday deploy.

- Task state in a DB, never process memory (must survive a kill -9). - Ditch magic frameworks for a 30-line while-loop you can debug at 3 AM. - Pin exact model versions & treat prompt diffs like code deployments. - Trace loop iteration spans, not just 200 OK API endpoints.

Everyone's focused on AI agents communicating. Far fewer are asking how agents prove who they are. ANS takes a pragmatic approach: build on DNS, PKI, and transparency logs instead of inventing a new trust system. A direction for secure agent-to-agent interactions. #AIAgents #SoftwareArchitecture

Most multi-vertical AI agents fail because specialization is treated as a prompt problem. What worked for us instead: * template-scoped personas * composable prompt fragments * scaffold-aware reasoning One agent implementation. Multiple specialized behaviors. No prompt spaghetti. #AI #LLM #Agents
