I love this time of year as things are getting ready to burst into flower. Unfortunately the blooms on this only last briefly. I’ll have to try and get a pic when it’s in full flower to see how much the branches get weighed do n.

This morning’s outing was a quiet one along the shoreline, not much moving at all… until this shag decided to put on a show. Double-crested Cormorant living up to its name here, those little crests catching the light just right. #Birds #BirdPhotography #Wildlife #Newfoundland

Always have your camera ready. Spotted an eagle while driving across the causeway, pulled over to track it—and it vanished. Thought we missed it. Then out of nowhere, it came back low over the sunroof and dropped in about 30 feet away. Dinner was waiting. Still buzzing. #baldeagle

#BirdOfTheDay theme is #HeadShots, with an alt theme of #Gulls. Ironic given my recent post about bird portraits. I went with this Atlantic Puffin captured prepping for a nap, and looking very coy. #birds #photography #ECK #puffin

I've done alternative images in the past, including a seascape and my best selling print ever, which I've attached here. None have been as well received, or noticed, as the puffin. It's overworked and everywhere yes, but it's for a reason I guess lol. I actually debated doing two cards!

I’ve been watching SNL since 78/79, still watch, usually skip the musical guest these days. Just watching Saturday Night Live UK and really digging the musical acts!

So I know that some people say cilantro tastes like soap…..not me. However does anyone else find mango tastes like mould? I just can’t, fresh, dried, flavour…I taste mould.

Everything is terrible and horrible. So here is Ann-Margaret and Desi Arnez Jr. on the “Here’s Lucy” show in 1970 doing a dance number that’s been remixed to Prince’s “Kiss”. Ann-Margaret was hip AF! 🔥

Thank you to the Globe & Mail for sharing our story. Here is the scoop on the Chapman family, the Chapman’s brand, and our long and bumpy road that brought us to current times. One thing is for certain; we couldn’t have done it without the ongoing support from Canadians across the country. 🍁

Flying a spaceship up to dock with a space station is an extreme event. Our range sensors failed, so we had to use eyeball visuals & a stopwatch to figure the angles & speeds. Hit too hard or crooked & we could have broken the space station, killing its crew. An incredibly tense final 10 minutes.

Endometriosis Awareness Month is fast approaching. At least 1 in 10 girls and women in Canada live with this disease. Diagnosis still takes years. Care still comes with long waits. That needs to change! 💛

Kept seeing these waterless chicken soup videos. Made it today. I did add a cup of water after it was finished. Not enough broth when it finished for my liking(but there was lots and it was really tasty). I only returned 1/2 the chicken to the pot.

It did take longer to cook as well. Everything said 1 to 1-1/2 hrs on simmering. I guess once it started simmering and I could hear the liquid bubbling it was about that long. It took a while for that to start though. I don’t know where the apple in the pot went either.

The drifting of this amount of snow with those winds is something people don’t understand if they haven’t experienced it. We are running out of places to put it and expect another 5-15 cm tonight….could be none, could be 30cm. Our weather is so much fun! 🙅‍♀️

Numbers from the latest blockbuster storm: dd.weather.gc.ca/today/bullet.... With 165.2 cm Feb 1-22, St. John’s #YYT is now less than 5 cm from its snowiest February on record (170.1 cm in 2006) and closing in on its snowiest calendar month (173.4 cm, Dec 2000). A few more days to get there! #nlwx

And we have more on the way this week….let alone Shelia and her stupid brush next month!!!!

Rodney Barney@rcbstormpost.bsky.social

As of February 22, St. John’s #YYT has recorded 376.4 cm of snow this season — already past the full-season 30-year average of 363.4 cm. Climatology says ~30% of the seasonal total still falls after this point… which would be another ~110 cm in a typical year. ❄️📈 #nlwx

When my secret garden becomes too secret and I have to break through so the dog can go 💩. Cant let her out off leash cause she could go over the 6’ fence with some of the drifts. What it looks like in summer vs after about 50cm of snow in 24ish hrs.
