🚨🚨This is a reminder to register by Sunday for the Neural Mechanisms for Acoustic Communication GRC & GRS Selected speakers from GRC abstracts will be notified soon and we're so excited to see you all soon!!! 🥳🎙️🧠🛶🌄🪰🐭🐦🦇🐸🐥🐒🐍🐟

⏰Deadline to submit abstracts to the 2024 Neural Mechinisms of Acoustic Communication GRC is this Sunday, April 21st!⏰ We're super excited to be putting finishing touches on the conference & look forward to an excellent lineup of speakers. 🎤 We’ll see you in Maine!☀️🌊🌲🗣️

We are at a different venue this year: the Jordan Hotel at Sunday River in Maine! Sandwiched between scientific activities, afternoons are free for hiking, kayaking, and more. 🥾🛶🌲

We know gordon conferences are expensive! We're working hard finalizing a budget to help w/ travel & registration costs, especially for early-career researchers. And don’t forget you can choose a shared room when registering- that will save you💰& lead to some new colleagues!

⏰ Last day to submit abstracts to be considered for a speaker slot at the Gordon Research **Seminar** for the Neural Mechanisms of Acoustic Communication! We're excited to see all the exciting work submitted and will inform speakers next week on April 8th!

🎤 Deadline to be considered as a speaker at the Neural Mechanisms of Acoustic Communication **GRS** is March 31st. That's this Sunday, so grad students and postdocs - time to get your abstracts in! Submission link: www.grc.org/neural-mecha...

📢1 month left for abstract submission! This year, the Neural Mechanisms for Acoustic Comm. GRC has 23 open speaker slots to be selected from submitted abstracts. 🎙️ From our fundraising efforts, we can defray registration and partial travel costs so apply & spread the word!

This hands-on workshop will discuss bioacoustic analyses from the perspectives of recording animals in the lab and in the wild, the ecosystem of tools, and how to choose the appropriate tool for your research question. 🧰🔭🗜️🪛✂️🔊🖥️🎤❓🐦‍⬛🐭🐒🐍🪰🦇🐦 2/3

Additionally, we will walk through a workflow for organizing raw acoustic data, vocal segmentation, feature extraction, and call classification using the latest machine-learning methods! We hope to see you there! 🥳🥳🥳 3/3

This will also be the inaugural NMAC Gordon Research Seminar – a meeting the weekend before the GRC (May 18-19) just for early-career researchers. Our theme this year will be celebrating diversity in the model systems, questions, and scientists studying animal communication.

We have a fantastic line-up of speakers working on the neuroscience, ecology, and theory of acoustic communication in crows, bats, marmosets, flies, humans, and more! Additional speakers will be selected from submitted abstracts.

We are also securing funding to offset registration and travel costs, prioritizing under-represented groups and early-career researchers. Please indicate your interest in funding when you apply.

You are up to date.
