Perhaps political waves aren't created by elections, but by scars. Ukraine. Gaza. Iran. Three successive shocks striking the same generation before the last wound has healed. If wars leave political scars, this generation may carry a very distinctive one.

Doting on this album. The remarkable thing is these are new songs. The sound is comfortingly familiar, but the lyrics hit like they're responding to the world we're living in. Maybe the Stones' strongest work since the last great Western flirtation with fascism.

Hey James, You got the example comparison to WW2 slightly wrong. Trump doesn't even offer support - he just thinks by Ukrainian powerplants belonging to the US would be less likely (possibly preventing them) from being attacked by Putin.

..also important, Zelenskyy Said that in the call all that was proposed by Trump was taking over ownership of the Saporischschja plant. The Ukrainian president also said he felt no pressure . Trump's statement after painted a totally different picture of course.

....Colombia would always have accepted normal/ chartered flights and that's what then happened. Colombia did not accept the military planes despite the bully blackmail approach by Trump. The accepted theory citizens to be returned - as they would have done via the normal process -

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Hey James - Great to have you back. Re Musk - Just like the government has the duty to ban aggressive propaganda channels they should apply the same to Musk's campaigns. I'd argue, there is now really hardly a difference between banning e.g. Russian propaganda and Musk.
