Watching replay of SC debate. Andrews issues invitation to Graham for debate. Graham says it's more important for her to hear from SC people than to debate. But doing a debate televised statewide might help SC voters know where each stands on the issues. Maybe Graham doesn't want educated voters?

If Darline Graham was truly a viable candidate for Senate, she would stand and speak with solid knowledge about the topics of her platform instead of changing her last name to rely on a sympathy vote tied to her deceased brother. Thanks, but no. Annie Andrews presents as a much better candidate.

Wait...did he offer to sell American weapons to China? The same China that supplied weapons to Iran during the first 6 months of this year? So potentially, he could indirectly supply weapons to the country the US is at war with? Wow...stable genius indeed. Brilliant.

So the guy who craves being the center of attention denies reporting crews access to where he'll be doing something and then wants to complain about why they're not talking about him. Seems he has a problem with cause and effect. They could just make stuff up, but there's that "fake news" thing...

Trump complains that the news outlets he banned from the WH don't give him any positive coverage. Maybe they should just start their daily broadcasts with "We can positively state that we received word that the president is reportedly awake today." Given his day-sleeping habit, being awake is a +.

Saw video of RFKjr saying teens today have half the sperm count teens had decades ago. How exactly did they test teens for sperm counts decades ago and was that a normal part of an annual physical? Is it a normal thing to do now?

Keep up to date on all things Democracy Docket!

Marc Elias@marcelias.bsky.social

I will be direct: Here how you can help me. 1. Spread the word about the threats to democracy and free and fair elections. 2. Tell everyone to subscribe to Democracy Docket and share its content. demdock.com/4w6emld

Volvo anticipates putting thousands of driverless tractor trailers on US roads in the near future. The claim is that they'll be very safe due to technology. But what if there's an accident with one of those trucks? Whose DL & insurance info do you get from an empty driver's seat?

There's a lot of talk about the grand ballroom to be constructed. Renderings show something overloaded with embellishments and coated in gilt. Guests will be so distracted that they won't be able to focus on whoever is supposed to be the center of attention at any event held there.

So Trump wants to eliminate vote by mail. Wouldn't it be a rip if SCOTUS said, "Sure, no more vote by mail"? (Pretty sure it was credibly reported that Trump voted by mail in the last presidential election.)

People are questioning if the McConnell photo is AI or not. Ms. Chao was reportedly in China even after McConnell was in the hospital. If it's not AI, wouldn't reporters have seen Ms. Chao here in the US, maybe at his DC home, going into the hospital, or another DC location, wouldn't they?

Reportedly GOP sens/reps were told they can't leave DC to celebrate Easter with their families. Wouldn't that be a form of religious discrimination? Thought that might be against the law, even if they were promised dinner with the prez as a consolation.

ICE agents "helping" TSA? Reports say ICE just walks in past the checkpoints into the TSA security areas. Really? ICE doesn't have badges & don't show ID aanywhere, but they walk right in? Yet travelers have to produce ID, remove shoes, belts, get x-ray'd, and potentially physically searched? Wow.

Will this "excursion" be the undoing of this administration? Or are the cabinet, GOP & MAGA so drawn in that they'll parrot & support the talking points presented by whoever is pulling the admin's puppet strings, regardless of what is obvious to everyone else (and in private, even to themselves)?

Bulletpoint in today's NYTimes Morning newsletter says ICE agents will accompany the US Winter Olympics delegation to Italy. Article says they'll "vet and mitigate risks from transnational criminal organizations." (I thought ICE works at/inside the US border, not on foreign soil.) Italy is pissed.

Seriously...really? reposted

Don't let this Jan 6th point get lost: Jack Smith testified to Congress he had "proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 election." In other words, he could prove in court that Trump attempted a coup.

So, watching video of interviews with DJT, Lindsey, and Lutnick on AF1. OMG...they're saying the the oil under Venezuela belongs to the US (DJT), people are alive TODAY in the US because Trump took Maduro (LG), and we're going to do lots of business with companies in Venezuela (HL). /1

Why would oil UNDER another country's soil belong to the US? How would the kidnapping of Maduro immediately prevent people in the US from dying? How does doing a lot of business in Venezuela make America great again...does it give jobs to Americans who don't have jobs? /2

This is just bullies just taking what they want from others simply because they want to and they have control of people who are willing to do what they ask. He's now talking about putting boots on the ground there. Trump said his voters voted for this. They did? I thought he said "No new wars." 3/3

Great question for all those still blindly following the man in the Oval Office and those who control him. How do they explain why the gov't has no funds to curb rising healthcare costs or rural hospitals/clinics shutdowns, or fund the ACA, but heck yeah, let's start a war with Venezuela?

Mrs. Betty Bowers@mrsbettybowers.bsky.social

Isn't it odd that the United States has enough money to suddenly run Venezuela, but not enough to run our own country? There is always cash in the piggy bank for bombs to kill people, but never for healthcare to keep them alive.

Isn't the daily recommendation to take 1 baby aspirin (81mg) daily to prevent heart attack/stroke? Just saw some reporting that included a bit saying DJT is taking more than 315mg of aspirin a day. I'm no mathematician, but that's roughly 4 times the 1 baby aspirin. Why take so much?

Yeah, well...this is positively beyond what he (or any president) should be allowed to do to The People's House without approval of the People, or at the very least, their representatives. Keep documenting so we can keep sharing.

Angry@angrystaffer.bsky.social

The White House is asking people not to share pictures of the East Wing because it’s even worse today.

That might not have been an "accidental" slip of the tongue. Perhaps he has "small man syndrome" and just desperately needs people to know he's in charge.

The New Republic@newrepublic.com

His slip of the tongue reveals who’s really in charge. trib.al/mIvP0yE “Illinois governor says we’re provoking actions that are unlawful,” Miller said on CNN. “If I put federal law enforcement and National Guard into a nice sleepy Southern town, is anyone gonna riot?”

So, the WH is now "laing off" federal employees during the shutdown. Just wait until the next employment numbers report comes out and the administration doesn't like what it says. They'll need to be reminded that they are responsible for the job losses.

So Trump's/Hegseth's new military training plan is to make training more scary. Will they run military shooting drills down Main Street USA using citizens as (unwilling) targets? How does that work? "Lady with a baby, don't shoot!" "Oops!" "Old man with a white cane!" "Sorry, not sorry!"

So, will this will start weeks before the elections to scare people from going out at all, much less than to the polls? Will they blockade polling locations for any who do try to vote? Seriously hoping there are military leaders & troops who understand their oath to the US Constitution and the law.

Did ABC choose to suspend Jimmy Kimmel indefinitely rather than cancelling his contract just so they could keep him from going to another platform led by management/ownership with a backbone that supports free speech under the 1st Amendment? Is keeping him from going somewhere else a favor?

I don't watch much network TV. But after a recent Bucs game on ABC, I saw a show with some promise: High Potential. Listen up ABC mgmt (& show sponsors): I won't be watching because you axed Jimmy Kimmel. Bye Disney, all of it. Thankfully, I never spent money on Hulu. They sold out.
