No stream schedule for this week because I need to try and re-evaluate when/how I stream. And also work. Work saps me of the will to be anywhere near a computer and it just doesn't look like that'll stop. Unless I get laid off when I finish giving computer everything it needs to take my job.

The hyperfocus has been REAL this week. Built a cute little Zork-styled applicant assessment game that I think is neat. Trying to learn more about network protocols as we rapidly approach the DataKrash event horizon in real life.

They built a Brute Force Machine that very clearly demonstrated we are in no way prepared to defend against the Brute Force Machine. And the outcome of the Brute Force Machine will make the Brute Force Machine effectively worthless.

In the latest edition of ‘Technology Is A Shit And Zer0 Is Cursed: Lore Accurate Edition (tm)’ I’ve been gaslit by my motherboard for the past two years. All the problems, all the tests and rebuilds. All of it. This thing. Has been failing slowly the ENTIRE TIME. Now it’s just dead for good.

Unsurprisingly, work obligations have once again necessitated a moratorium on streaming. One day I will not have to crunch on my project deliverables. I say, lyingly.

I haven't looked much into how to effectively 'poison' written content for LLM ingestion, so I'm not sure how feasible this is. I'd normally write this in a blog post but this is less navel-gazey nonsense and more 'someone with bigger brain tell me if this makes sense at all'. A thread. Obvs.

By default, the content is gibberish nonsense garbage. Verified users have the decrypt key + script and the content is rendered after the request response on the user's device, so the mechanisms are never revealed or otherwise detected overtly? Wait.

... Am I just attempting to resurrect the 'paper decoder wheel' era of copy protection? Oh no.

That can be used to return radically different information that would prevent your words from being accidentally or purposely ingested by an automated web scraper by returning nonsense if the requester can be identified as a content scraper.

Kind of like how flood detection forces a captcha challenge, except that in these situations, the information still technically resides in its full structured form, you just can't access it. So maybe the reverse is a better option?

That means there's a reasonable expectation of consistency or relations when the training data is being ingested and tagged and shaped for training. TL;DR: Depending on how the data is scraped, can we introduce some kind of encryption or hashing to page content?

(again, caveat, I'm a dumbass who has no background in security operations and cryptography and whatnot. I barely understand the DOM sometimes, let alone how AI interacts with it) But presuming that whatever is used to scrape and label page content has a certain request shape, I wonder if...

Not here to debate ethics or whatever. I believe that people should have the right to protect what they write and how it is used. Companies that ingest all this content to train LLMs are doing the thing where they do the damage before legislation catches up and it's too late, industry 'disrupted'.

Sorry, got distracted looking up information on LLM training. So, the training data informs the model's understanding of how words relate to one another. How it guesses that the next word in the sentence 'the dog has 4' is probably 'legs' and not 'particles' (along with a lot of other math)

Technology continues to spite me and I have no one to blame but myself. My basement smart lock uses a battery. That battery has mysteriously died. The option to jumpstart the lock has also failed. There are literally no other options. I must now break into my own basement. JOYOUS DAY.
