Old school miniatures hobbyist, board gamer, rock and roller, misfit, and cynic (dude/mans). Mostly Russo-German Jew with a side of white trash. Byproduct of genocide. Bluesky and Xitter are bad platforms for discussing politics, so I'm not doing it here.

Remember how I said #maelstromsedge has awesome ragtag space resistance models a while back? Here's an example.

Pride Minis@prideminis.bsky.social

Finally built my Broke Rabble from #maelstromsedge I bought a few months ago and wow. What a fantastic kit! Required some creative uses of pieces to make decent poses (not all are winners still), but was nice to work with multi-pose plastic again. Painting will be fun! #miniatures

A bit of indie #miniaturesgaming history I picked up. It was mislabeled as a #mutantchronicleswarzone 3-up prototype, but thanks to some helpful folks on the #WarzoneEternal Discord, I now know it's a #Void Interdict Marine prototype. Pencil for scale. #sebgames sells the finished version.

Warm take: tired of #miniatures with a rifle in one hand and a pistol or huge melee weapon in the other. Are there no holsters, slings, or personal storage for secondary weapons in the future?

I'm making progress for #WhenNightmaresCome. This #ManticGames Nightscreech is mostly done, and it's going to be the Atrocity (big boss) of the campaign. Value sketched greyscale (drybrush then manual work), then #Speedpaint on top. The Banshee next to it is a miniboss, and no slouch either 😬

Also got #WarzoneEternal on the table again on Saturday, and I think my friend liked it enough to play it again. Me rolling really high (badly) on all of my armor checks probably didn't hurt 😅 Wish I could roll like that in D&D! Definitely need a QRS to remember reactions.

#SwordWeirdos is a great game and you should be playing it. The Weirdos engine is my top pick for convention games because it's very easy to pick up and has a lot of room for homebrew.

Had one fantastic #swordweirdos game. The elevated, dense terrain made for a lot of nice tactical problems. I had a gang of undead led by a vampire! He had powers but was hard to bring them to bear without getting him killed. #MiniaturePainting #nerdlings #wargaming #terrain #ttrpg #minipainting

A side note for my #miniaturespainting #miniaturepainting people: sometimes when gluing a tiny bit to a larger one, it's easier to keep the large piece on the sprue. Assembling #Malifaux Stolen in clear yellow plastic was *tough*

I'm working multiple projects at once, fellow #miniaturespainting/#miniaturepainting folks. Trying to stay in hobby mode in some way. I'm seeing lots of cool stuff here, though- y'all are doing great. Keep sharing!

Fun fact about me: my very first time trying D&D, my character failed to defeat four giant frogs, and one ate him. I don't remember if that was a fair fight for a Level 1 Fighter/Magic-User. I was probably supposed to avoid them. He tried; I was too young and impatient 😅

An #otherworldminiatures Giant Frog lurks at the pond near an Alternative Armies Wayside Shrine in the hopes of catching an unwary traveler as a snack. Backdrop by Jon Hodgson #warhammerterrain #miniaturepainting #alternativearmies

I've been buying a few older #Malifaux models even though I don't know if I'm going to get back into it with 4th Edition. I think my subconscious is telling me to go early pulp era with #WhenNightmaresCome 😅

This WIP was only a few years ago. Look how nice I got the casing of his flamethrower (the wonderfully named Gehenna Puker). Not award winning or anything, but I am very happy with it. Right now? I'm lucky not to botch the basecoat too badly 😓

I think it might be time to grab some Reaper Bones and relearn how to paint, starting with the absolute basics. Anything outside of basecoat, wash, or drybrush (sometimes) just fails. #miniaturespainting

Finally got #WarzoneEternal on the table. It's so nice to play a game that flows so smoothly. Once you are familiar with the d20 roll-under based tests, everything just...makes sense. It hits the nostalgic notes while providing a fast, tactical game...even when those nat20 critical failures hit 😅

I'm just going to say I remain disappointed in most humans today. Oh, and I have painter's block. I'm stuck part way on these #WarzoneEternal models and haven't figured out how to proceed yet. It's like my muscle memory is completely shot; I know what I want to do but I can't seem to execute.

This channer (not @cerberusxt.bsky.social, the poster in the screencap) is about 20 years too late to be whining about GW sacrificing everything for maximum profits. There are other games, folks. Start with stuff from @nordicweaselgames.bsky.social or #XenosRampant if you aren't sure.

CerberusXt@cerberusxt.bsky.social

That weird 4chan post doesn't make a lot of sense satire wise. GW might massively favor Space Marine, but acting like they didn't vastly improve/refreshed a lot of the Xenos and non space marine lines is delusional. #warhammercommunity

More #Castlevania inspired skeletons. This one is one of those annoying Red Skeletons, endlessly shuffling, getting smashed, then reforming again. From brush on primer to basing, I think this one took a couple of hours. It's OK to paint for the table. Recipe in reply. #miniaturespainting

I used a Reaper triad of blood colors- basecoated the dark one, then drybrushed the medium, then the light, then the light with a little white mixed in. Base is Reaper Earth Brown, drybrushed that plus white, then Army Painter Strong Tone wash. A little win to break out of a rut 🙂

In November I stopped painting miniatures. Today I picked up my brush again to finish two miniatures I started around thirty years ago. #MutantChronicles #Warzone #Miniatures #Oldhammer

Sometimes when I browse through #miniatures I get dollhouse, tiny crochet, and even custom doll stuff. And that's OK. It's neat to see what other hobby stuff is out there, and what is other people's jam. I hope they feel the same when my fellow #miniaturespainting folks and I post our stuff, too 👍

Hi #miniatures folks. Mentioned this earlier, but I've got pics now! My take on the Nova Skeleton from Castlevania. I started with a medium green basecoat, then built up drybrush layers to bright neon green. They're multi-genre useful, and relaxing drybrush practice.

Hey #miniaturespainting folks. This is two squads of models painted in what #GamesWorkshop called "basic colours" back in the day. If you're stuck on painting units, just do clean basecoats with simple details here and there like these. It will still look *way* better than unpainted.

The following model types are my favorites for practice or experimentation: Skeletons, Ghosts/Spirits, Elementals, and Golems. These monsters tend to be almost monochrome, so instead of having to worry about tons of little bits of detail, it's easier to go nuts and try stuff out.

Try this with a spare skeleton model, ideally a naked one: the Nova Skeleton. This can be done with nothing but drybrushing, with maybe a wash to tone things down a touch. It's an easy way to make some new grunts for your games, and a weak skeleton with a brutal short ranged beam can be fun 😁

Still working on old Bauhaus models to use for #WarzoneEternal. They are ugly right now because I'm painting in very short bursts. Here's an in-progress Nazca Razide I switch to when I get bored. These are fun to paint: muscle, hoses, claws, gillface, and big guns (and Razide butt, as always).

Straight into my veins. This looks amazing. A reminder to my fellow miniatures gamers that inexpensive and/or abstract terrain can look great. Half the battle is a cohesive theme.

Coolest thing I've seen at Salute today: this minis version of the classic early-80s Atari arcade game Battlezone. Not the digital-to-tabletop adaptation I'd expected to find, but wow.

The gist: Lesotho's average citizen earns about $5 per day. They are too poor to afford American exports. The US imports $237 million in diamonds from Lesotho. Trump imposed a 50% tariff on the small nation, which is incredibly stupid and will not help create jobs in America. Bully behavior.

Other brains are busy trying to get rich or solve great problems of the world. My brain is too busy with dumb things like the knowledge that Apple should have gotten Pikotaro to do an ad for Apple Pay. "Pen, Pineapple, Apple Pay" IT'S RIGHT THERE.

Sports talk radio is something I can't comprehend. It's like listening to fans of a nerddom talk for hours. You know the material, so it's hard to tune out, but aren't *that* into it so it kinda bores you. It drags on and on, and the nerds aren't entertaining. But they get paid for it.

Top Secret is where I first saw Val Kilmer. It's an amazing screwball comedy, and Kilmer effortlessly went back and forth between suave, dopey, and heroic, often in the same scene. He never seemed to lose touch with that sense of humor. Rest well, Mr. Kilmer, and thanks for the entertainment.

Two more to block. Ignorant of history, and one is outright fucking bigoted garbage (seriously, read that first one). The irony is that the OP was a Muslim woman showing solidarity with Jewish people- actual empathy, which is not just a sin for the right wing, apparently.
