We collected more than the required number of signatures from registered Pittsburgh voters, but due to court challenges and legal technicalities many of them cannot be counted. Despite all our work, Not on Our Dime will not be on the ballot on May 20. This is tough news.

I agree with this generally but I also do think it's a good idea to first ask like "what are people doing here that is good and needs help" and spending at least 15 minutes looking into that before starting something from scratch

If you're trying to figure out what to do right now, my advice is to just pick a thing that you think might be useful in some way, however small, and do it. Doing a thing leads you to doing another, bigger thing, and prepares you for that next thing.

Please donate if you can to help fund our campaign as we move into the next phase of our fight - defending our ballot access from any and all would be attacks to disenfranchise Pittsburgh's voters then pass this once it's on the ballot: notonourdimepgh.com/donate

notonourdimepgh.comDonateWe’re never going to outspend the war profiteers, military contractors, and pro-war political establishment that will line up to oppose this campaign, but we don’t need to outspend them.

Our community members have been very concerned about the ongoing assault on Gaza and the Palestinian Territories. Many are worried about the direction of democracy and foreign relations at the federal level.

The Not on Our Dime campaign is a culmination of democratic and anti-war values – we are using the power of direct democracy to take action where we can – in our home city of Pittsburgh.

BREAKING: We successfully submitted petitions to put a referendum on the ballot that would prevent the city of Pittsburgh from investing in or entering into business with any government actively committing genocide, apartheid, or ethnic cleansing. notonourdimepgh.com/2025/02/18/p...

Our goals would be daunting if we weren't certain there are hundreds of supporters with petitions in their hands trying to gather signatures that we just haven't gotten back yet. But we do, and we recall all we've accomplished together thus far.

We're closing in on an astounding 17,000 signatures collected, with many more signed up to canvass tonight and tomorrow. We need 6,000 more to have a really strong chance to get on the ballot and withstand legal attacks from our opponents who are committed to funding genocide.

We know it’s possible because yinz turned in over 6,000 between canvassers blanketing the city and hundreds of volunteers turning in their petitions on the last Sunday! Let’s do it again!

We are closing in on the end of the 7 weeks of petitioning to put a historic referendum to make Pittsburgh divest from genocide on our ballot. We need every signature everyone has collected turned in by the end of the day tomorrow (Sunday).

It’s the FINAL WEEKEND to sign and turn in petitions! They are due by TOMORRO! We will be waiting to receive petitions at Bantha Tea Bar on Saturday, Feb 15 from 11am to 3pm. We will also be at Trace Brewing in Bloomfield on Sunday, Feb 16 from 5pm-8pm.

Every day we go out canvassing we meet new people who enthusiastically support our cause, and here is one of them! Don Kirk is right— we don’t want our tax dollars paying for bombs that are then dropped on children! #notonourdimepgh #freepalestine #pittsburgh
