Ever since I got this scope I wanted to do a close up on M31. Unfortunately ran out of time to add Oiii and had to throw out a lot of frames due to bad seeing. In total 14 hrs on Ha and 1 hour on each RGB. π· - #zwo ASI2600MM Pro π - Askar 130PHQ Processed in @siril.org @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

My recent take on NGC281 the Pacman Nebula. This emission nebula is located ~9500 light years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. Taken over the course of a night from my backyard (awhile ago). π· - 2600MM Pro π - Askar 130PHQ Processed in @siril.org @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social
Been a busy year but getting back into it with the Elephants Trunk Nebula IC1396. π - Askar 130PHQ at 1000mm π· - ZWO 2600MM Pro π - 9 hours SHO Processed with @siril.org @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social
It's been a very busy year for me. Excited to have been part of the team to make this happen!
π Launch Complex 3 is here! Weβre ready to cut the ribbon on Neutron's new world-class test, launch, and landing facility on Wallops Island, Virginia. Join us for the live broadcast of our opening reception around 10 a.m. EST: rocketlabcorp.com/live-stream/
Haven't had a ton of clear nights with good seeing lately but here's one project I've managed to do the last few months. The reflection nebulae VdB 14 & 15 in Camelopardalis. π - Askar 130PHQ π· - ZWO 2600MM-Pro π - 27 hrs of LRGB @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social
My last wide field image for the time being is IC405 and IC410 in SHO (as well as quite a few other open star clusters and nebulae). Located ~1,500 and ~12,400 light-years away in the constellation Auriga, this is a young star forming region. #astrophotography @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

One of my favorite shots yet of Comet ATLAS by @jeanetteastro.bsky.social! Unfortunately it looks like the comet may already be breaking apart and is only visible in the southern hemisphere.
More Comet ATLAS :) Taken on the 21st Jan, 2025. 11x13sec subs, stacked. Canon 700D @ ISO1600, Canon Nifty 50 lens @ F2.8 #comet #astronomy #astrophotography
After working through processing M33 I think I've come up with a workflow I am fairly happy with. Will share processing details below. π - Askar 130PHQ π· - ASI2600MM Pro Planning to add more time to this after the full moon. #astrophotography @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social
Had to go back and bump up the saturation. Really makes quite a difference in comparison. #astrophotography
First attempt at learning to edit NB + RGB with a mono setup. This is M33 with 75 mins on each HΞ±/R/G/B filter. Still working out some kinks with the new setup. π - Askar 130PHQ π· - ASI2600MM Pro #astrophotography @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

Gonna test this out with some Sii data from a few nights ago @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social Just a couple of hours with the Redcat and 2600MM #astrophotography
@quantumkat.bsky.social this is really awesome and a super helpful tool! Thanks for putting this together it's working well and is very responsive!
For reference here is a ~3 hour stack of 10 minute exposures with meh seeing. #astrophotography
Finally have a few hours of clear-ish skies so getting in some Oiii on NGC1499 - The California Nebula The Oiii emission is pretty faint compared to the HΞ± and Sii but I promise it's there. This is just a single 10min exposure and stacking will ring out more detail #astrophotography #space #nebula

Ever wondered what a star's twinkle looks like? This is 441 different out of focus captures of Capella as its light is refracted through the atmosphere. I call it Capella's Cosmic Sweet Shop. #astrophotography

IC1848 aka the Soul Nebula from a few months ago in SHO for my introduction into mono. This was over 25 hours of total imaging time #astrophotography
