I was SO happy to find out this morning that DirecTV FINALLY made a deal with HHN so I can watch Carolina Hurricanes hockey again. I missed this very much.

I'm back home now, but being able to be at the beach with family, even if it was only briefly, was exactly what I needed this weekend. This is absolutely my happy place.

I just finished @wiswell.bsky.social's The Dragon Has Some Complaints (after binging it over maybe a week) and, y'all, this book is a true delight and so worth a read! Between the humor, action, and truly heartfelt moments it is such a wholesome story (and a world I want more of!). Loved it!! :)

Boy howdy I am SO ready to get to the "feeling actually normal and not hurting" part of this year. Physical therapy was a bit of a backslide over the past week as it actually created more discomfort than it helped. :/

I took advantage of the beautiful fall weather today to plant the fall and winter flowers. Pansies are once again taking over the large planter and in the pot where nothing bloomed we have a few more pansies and a Dragon's Breath Celosia as the centerpiece. :)

I'm starting to see some real progress from physical therapy with my right arm, woo! There are fewer issues of nerve pain, my daily routine is much more normal, and I'm actually feeling ready to step up to trying a normal length disc golf course this weekend. I hope this progress continues!

Oof, I barely had time to do two quick laps around a short local 9 hole disc golf course after work before it got dark. I already miss the summer daylight (the summer temperatures that are lingering around can heck off, though).

It was a nice June evening for a run (& walk) on this October 13th. (seriously, why is it so warm out?)

What even happened today. It felt like a blur, heh.

Update on the tornado warning: it passed just a few miles to my west (not even 10 minutes down the road) and Gracie and I are fine. I hope everyone still in the path of these storms stays safe!

Welp, tornado warning and the track is heading my way so I guess Gracie and I are hanging out in the downstairs bathroom for a little while.

I've seen glass blowing demonstrations so many times over the years and it's still such an impressive art to witness. Favorite comment of the day: "Yeah, that furnace has actually been running a little cool lately at only 2000° F." Runner up: "It's actually hotter than a volcano!"

How do y'all like my new clothes dryer? (Mine apparently died and I only discovered this AFTER a load of laundry)

If I hadn't put off CFF packing and prep I would probably be out enjoying this beautiful sunset and weather with a long walk, but, alas, that is not what I did, lol.

Canes game could have gone much better (our offense did not look like they were gelling at all), but there's always going to be some rust. At least we got a point! Shake it off, learn from the mistakes, and come back stronger. Hockey's back, woo!

6 years ago today I lost Mom to cancer and it's still hard to believe she's gone. She was not just the best mother I could ever ask for, she was also a close friend, an adventure buddy, and someone I just loved spending time with and talking to. Love you and miss you, now and always, Momma!
