on my 3.3 million line ember app at work, I see: 11.6 to 15.1% faster type-checking this now takes ~ 10s or less and 22% less memory

interesting framework that matches my own experience both of coding in general and agentic coding specifically. i don't know if its predictions are accurate, or if 'decoherence collapse' is inevitable, but as a person who unfortunately has to use software, it does feel like software is decohering

My thoughts on the current state of AI driven software development, why I'm no longer concerned about a runaway intelligence explosion, and what I think is a far worse outcome we could be walking into maevyn.codes/decoherence

"we'll end up in a place where we must use agents to maintain our systems" ... ... "Locked into a development model that slowly degrades our systems no matter how much effort we put into fixing them." . . ~ "Unreachable with all of the compute on Earth" ~

i need to ~ e f f e c t i v e l y ~ pass judgement on the performance of web apps let's name and shame any site that unneededly rerenders

Software dev is very fun these days ~ but ..- I wonder ... Is *using* software getting any better or fun? ~ I still hate the average app / site

If you use a "pentest" tool and tell a company that their *frontend* has a security vulnerability because sourcemaps are present, you are wasting everyone's time.

⚡lightspeed.ff ⚡ Re-released my one browser extension ~ (after long-needed updates and permissions removing) it's my favorite way to not use the mouse on the web ~ f ~ to go fast

More reason to hate apps on macOS: click a notion link -> handled by browser -> browser forwards to OS because Notion app is installed -> Notion app is configured to open links in the browser -> Notion app sends you back to the browser to finally view your link

This isn't default behavior. ~ what I wanted ~ _to just always have notion links open in the browser_ macOS has no way to configure link handlers / behaviors can't opt out of the Notion app handling links Notion app has to be configured to open the link in the browser

Notion for web's config to "open in app" being turned off means nothing. This is a work mac, so I can't actually delete Notion. I mean, I can, but it re-installs itself (I have 6 Notion apps in my Trash)

when testing in ember, (whether you use qunit or vitest) this is done for you 🎉

This is such a silly mistake and yet I see you making it all the time in your tests. ❌ Do NOT run cleanup after assertions ✅ Schedule the cleanup via hooks or use Disposable Objects A seemingly tiny change that'll have tremendous impact on your tests, especially memory-wise.

I hope public companies that are majority-controlled-by-a-board start experimenting with replacing executives with agents ya know how c-suite people say a lot without saying a lot? ~ AI is _really_ good at that
