New Release: Sauced, smoked, and shipped Nushell 0.114.0: sharper type checking, POSIX-style `--` option parsing, a new `run` command for pipeline-friendly scripts, and built-in Semantic Versioning support. github.com/nushell/nush... Full release notes: www.nushell.sh/blog/2026-07...
We're looking for feedback on PR SemVer a First Class Nushell Value type along with several helper commands. github.com/nushell/nush... Would you use it? Worth a new Value type? Swing by the discord, we'd love your point of view.
The miracles of modern technology mean this "This Week in Nushell" is coming to you from a cruise ship in the Caribbean. For all our readers in Cuba, please wave as TWiN sails on by. ¡Que te vaya bien! www.nushell.sh/blog/2026-06...
Your regular, slightly behind schedule, like regular, weekly update www.nushell.sh/blog/2026-06... Thanks everyone!
Do you love globs? We need your help! On main, when you launch: `nu --experimental-options dc-glob=true` it enables a new type of globbing. Stronger, faster. Details: github.com/nushell/nush... It'll be in the release on 2026-07-04 Swing by the discord, say hi in the #design-discussion channel!
We've landed 3 big PRs and need your help testing before the 2026-07-04 release 🚀 They touch script pipelines, `--` parsing, and `ignore`. Details below! 1/4
TWiN (This week in Nushell) #354 is out! My momma always said, if you don't have time to come up with anything witty to say about a TWiN, say "Thank you to all our contributors!" www.nushell.sh/blog/2026-06...
`ignore` can now selectively consume streams: - `--stderr` / `-e` - `--stdout` / `-o` - `--show-errors` / `-x` Please test pipelines, externals, and error handling behavior! github.com/nushell/nush... 4/4
Please test these against real scripts, wrappers, externals, pipelines, and error cases. Feedback welcome on the PRs or in Discord: discord.gg/NtAbbGn Thanks and have fun! 🐘💜
`run` lets Nu scripts participate in pipelines without spawning another Nu process. Supports bare scripts, `def main`, args/flags, isolated scope, `$in`, and script path resolution. Please test script-as-filter workflows! github.com/nushell/nush... 2/4
Nushell now supports POSIX Guideline 10: `--` as the end-of-options delimiter. After `--`, dash-prefixed values are treated as positional args for built-ins, custom commands, and `def --wrapped`. Please test flag-heavy commands and wrappers! github.com/nushell/nush... 3/4
