Hello! I'm Ally, a developer and musician! In this thread I'll be posting about things I work on! I don't keep my website very up to date, but you can see more of my projects at nyako.dev! I'll try to post more about them here as well!

distractionware.comThe Latest – distractionwareHello all! Happy, uh, 2026? Sorry it’s been so long, you know how it is. You get busy, time goes by, and then all of a sudden it’s October and there’s way too much to talk about to cover everything in one little blog post.

that one discord friend with the status "wont be online much because of school/college" who is always online

They're making New Dogs. That can be Turned Green. if you Spray them. With Green Paint

You can purchase awake time by spending your sleeping time. But watch out, because the evil time capitalists will notice and inflict headache

can we start pretending tim sweeney made pipewire so that we can complain about pipewire and blame tim sweeney

it should be a crime to give unsolicited criticism on something you know nothing about

Beyond the Boundary A really charming anime that unfortunately had some problems with its ending, which included a little too much backpedalling. The movie was also very good, but also ended up having a confusing and very weirdly paced ending. 7/10

Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part III: Rebellion I was driving today and for some reason I almost cried because I started thinking about Madoka Magica 10/10

people with personal domains be like "visit my site for info about me" and the site hasnt worked for 8 months

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Really good but was a lot shorter than I thought it'd be. Very fun, some of the puzzles weren't indicated well IMO but it was a really good time all around. 7/10

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Really really good. The story is a lot better compared to OOT, which makes sense; OOT was mostly about the gameplay, and got that down pretty good, meaning Majora had to grow in a different direction, which it very much succeeded at. 8/10

Supermarket Together We found it. The unitygem I was actually like addicted to this. It's really fun and the devs seem pretty cool. Even if it runs poorly 8/10

Bocchi The Rock! FINALLY watched this and despite dying of secondhand embarrassment a Few times it was really good. I normally don't watch shows like that because I'm like, too embarrassed to watch cutesy things. But I always end up really liking them... Please make a season 2 9/10

Sword Art Online This had a lot of ups and downs but generally it was a lot better than I thought it'd be. Alicization's first season was crazy good and the season after felt a little more. Slop. Somehow. But I did enjoy a Lot of it. and I'm sad we're somehow still waiting for more 7/10

Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream I still open this every day to buy things but I'm mostly just going through the motions now (was addicted at first) I wish it was padded out with more base content rather than relying on user content so much, especially when theres no sharing (understandably) 7/10

💫✨ MEDIA THREAD 2026 ✨💫 I forgor to do this

Big Walk Played this with @woke-media.org and it was really fucking good. I hope people make custom puzzles. OR I hope the devs do a smaller DLC map or something. It was so good 10/10

DELTARUNE Chapter 5 i dont have much to say that i havent already said 10/10

💫✨ MEDIA THREAD 2026 ✨💫 I forgor to do this

ERASED I found this really good, though I feel like the ending struggled a bit. Was really into the mystery and drama, but the ending somehow felt a little weak. 7/10

Silo First live-action show I've seen in a while, and fuck it's really good. It feels weird because it's like, a modern streaming drama... but I didn't expect to be so invested in it. Some of the episodes do have strange pacing, but each season is 10 episodes, so... 9/10

💫✨ MEDIA THREAD 2026 ✨💫 I forgor to do this

Puella Magi Madoka Magica Very good!! happy i finally watched this. unfortunately i was spoiled on Quite a lot but it was a good watch. i felt like the ending was cheapened by it being a somewhat common thing i've seen (the whole self-sacrifice/I'lll Always Be WIth You) stuff but. was good 8/10

Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day It succeeded at making me pretty emotional, but it had a lot of flaws. Very good melodrama though, especially for a short anime 8/10

I still see a lot of confusion about what decompilation, recompilation and ports are and what level of effort is involved in each type of project. It's important that people understand the difference, as recompilation took a drastically different meaning that when it was originally introduced.

i'm noticing that most "better <x>" mods or whatever tend to misunderstand or completely ignore the design philosophy behind the original work

"Better Combat" [completely changes combat to something different] "Better Hunger" [introduces Food Groups, Thirst] "Better Jumping" [flying]

yknow maybe it comes from a place of thinking that More In-depth Mechanic = Better. which is not the case and you can't just assume more complex thing is always better

also seems very egoist to claim you're making something better than the original without trying to understand it in the first place
