It is really early, but if the Heat implode, they have very limited ability to do anything meaningful about it. And if there is a day of reckoning, is the cause Pat Riley's karmic debt? Perhaps.
It's probably not today, but we aren't too far off from having some conversations about the Heat. This game was close, but was a real mess for Miami. They did not look good once again.
I googled to see if tonight's Celtics game was on NBCSB. AI replied, "Yes, tonight's Boston Celtics game against the Indiana Pacers (at 7:30 PM ET) is available to stream on Peacock and NBC Sports Boston." It got the time, opponent, & broadcaster wrong. Conclusion: Don't take medical advice from AI.

Mazzulla's willingness to go with the Queta/Robinson double bigs will at least in part be determined by how effective Garza and Cenac can be. Robinson only has so many minutes in him. If the other centers can provide reliable play, it frees up that limited Mitch time for twin towers.
Of course, there’s room for growth after their first test-run, but the Celtics were smart to use the preseason to sharpen another tool they can turn to. “We can be really good together.” Here’s how they made it work with Queta and Robinson: hardwoodhoudini.com/mitchell-rob...
I suspect we'll see some successful lobs for the Celtics tonight.
Sixers at Celtics – TD Garden - October 10, 2026 – Starters Boston –White, Walsh, George, Tatum, Robinson Philadelphia – Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Justin Edwards, Dean Wade, Jabari Walker OUT – Boston: Carter Philadelphia: James, Brown, Embiid, Simons, KCP, Fall, Hukporti
Two drafts ago the Celtics traded back in the 2nd round to avoid having to give that #32 pick a regular roster spot. They passed on Kalkbrenner (pick #34) and Raynaud (#42) ending up with Amari and Shulga. They also got a future 2nd back, who turned into Dillon Mitchell. So maybe this is not too bad.
