Students and their families are taking on more debt while the government continues to underfund universities. There's another way forward that will help students, their families, and Ontario's economy.

Ontario's government is rushing major changes to teacher education programs through Bill 101 without meaningful consultation. Add your name to support high-quality teacher education, academic freedom, and a stronger public education system in Ontario. tinyurl.com/496srjsr

Ontario’s new one-year teacher training program includes 80 practicum days. Other provinces mandate from a low of 70 to a high of 120 days. The Ontario Teachers’ Federation has been calling for 100. Read the latest from @krushowy.bsky.social:

Tuition is going up. OSAP grants are getting cut. During a cost of living crisis, families can't afford to take on more student debt. Students need more grants, not loans. And universities need more funding to help them thrive.
