Hi. 👋🏼 If you’re here looking for the Simon Wilson who is * the BBC journalist * the video blogger * the chap from New Zealand, writes for the New Zealand Herald …none of them are me. 🫡

My designated/local pharmacy going hard on the “get your flu jab with us!” the last two weeks, sending me two texts to book with them — just after my GP surgery facilitated my jab with one of their Sunday conveyor belt days. (Yeah, I know how it all works and also doesn’t work.)

Thoughts and prayers with all the NY Yankees and LA Dodgers fans I see around the UK. Must be tough at the moment knowing your team hasn’t made the World Series. 💁‍♂️

Had a lot of chats about roles lately where someone says we need product thinking. Or product management. Rarely what they mean. So here's my go at both, plus product operating models, and some questions to ask whether you're hiring or looking. www.officeofwilson.com/bizarre-love...

officeofwilson.comBizarre love triangleOr: What do you mean by product thinking? I've had a few chats about roles the last few months. In way more than one of them someone said We need product management. Or We need product thinking. And ...

Shout out to the Man U fan at the canal at the weekend being all billy big bollocks when he saw my Grimsby top. “Don’t need to worry about you little clubs this year, mate! Back in the big time, mate!” he shouted at me. Good to see, mate.

I was on @codalmighty.bsky.social match report duties for last night's Grimsby game at Rochdale. Somebody's changed my GREAT title - which was a GREAT nod to the GREAT Autechre - gah. Editors, eh. But anyway... #GTFC www.codalmighty.com/site/ca.php?...

Tuesday night under the lights at Rochdale for the #GTFC game. Enjoyed that. Much better. Much much better. 💪🏼

Highlight of my morning: Having chat with someone about music, remembered I'd seen a recent video where a band said they were recording together. I go to Google search and its AI prompt argues - over three rounds - I am wrong. So I check the video and the date, share it with the chatbot. Oh. Yes.

I mean humans can dig their heels in too, sure. But telling me I am wrong despite me saying I'd watched the video only recently and mentioned it is... a certain mental approach. Not sure where I've seen facts get in the way of winning an argument in the last few years.... must be other examples...

I’ve spent four hours today stripping (steady…) and sanding doorframes. Tim however has spent four hours running round York to raise money. Another £125 and he’s hit his £1500 target. G’orn. Even a fiver helps. www.justgiving.com/page/tim-p-m...

Done! Massive thanks to everyone who donated and to @officeofwilson.com for playing hype-man! We raised over a grand in a day - a few more donations will push it to £1,500 - you know what to do 😜

Here’s one of *a few* pictures of boats from my collection. Grand Union canal, St Pancs, London — December 2025

Go to your camera roll and search “boat” and then post a photograph of a boat you like Paris - 2026

Street Fighter. Very fun! Very Simpson and Bruckheimer as its starting point. Feels there was a lot cut to keep it brisk. I really don’t care it was daft. It made me laugh and forget about outside the cinema for a couple of hours. That can be a good thing. Oh, and also — let’s be honest — kinky.

Loads of football clubs around the world try to intimidate the visiting team with reminders of how good the home team are. Details of past trophies or past players etc. Everton’s approach is a bit more cryptic. “Accessible toilet”

This video - on Instagram, sorry, can’t find it anywhere else - comparing Burt’s Bees lip balm from 2022 to one bought today is the most excellent example of product design and product manufacturing I’ve seen in a long time. Bravo, Kent Brantlenite! www.instagram.com/reel/DefOseQ...

Phone photo galleries are great. Three years ago today I was walking a dry riverbed in Texas looking for dinosaur paw prints. Four years, walking Rozzles through Saltaire. What a babe. ❤️ Six years ago, taking shots of the the sky from the house in Idle, a view I saw a lot that year. Time, eh. 💨

Closing things off is as valuable as starting. My team at NHS England got "stood down" recently. Used some time this week to reflect for an unofficial follow-up to our first design history. Not exhaustive. Good to acknowledge the team's hard work. www.officeofwilson.com/getting-all-...

“Sees it as it is and speaks common sense” instantly brings up my fave example of _common sense_ from my youth: “Eat your carrots. Carrots help you see in the dark.” Fact: Carrots won’t give you better-than-normal night vision.

Tim’s £350 off his target. If you’ve some spare cash - and I know money is *tight* - please give a little the way of Tim’s cause. Every bit helps. 🙇‍♂️

This time next week I'll be about to start my 10th marathon 😬 It's always a good opportunity to fundraise, so if you'd like to help a good cause... www.justgiving.com/page/tim-p-m...
