53 years ago, Roe v. Wade recognized reproductive freedom as a constitutional right. Its overturning four years ago was a devastating blow to women in Ohio and across the country.

But Ohio Democrats fought back. We built a coalition of Democrats, Independents, and Republicans who agreed that people, not politicians, should make decisions about their own bodies. Ohio voters enshrined abortion rights in our state constitution.

Republicans are still trying to ignore the will of Ohioans and make care harder to access. Ohio Democrats will keep holding anti choice politicians accountable and will elect leaders who always fight for a woman’s right to choose.

Time after time, Jon Husted has blocked every effort to address the crisis he helped create and stop health care costs from rising further for Ohio families.

Ohio now has 28 counties without a single OB-GYN. That's unacceptable and dangerous. People need access to basic prenatal and reproductive care for their health and safe childbirth. As @anitamd.bsky.social asked: What happens is people don’t get care? ohiocapitaljournal.com/2025/11/26/w...

Prices are up across your entire thanksgiving table and Jon Husted is a big reason why. Higher food costs. Higher travel costs. More flight delays. Ohio families are paying more while Husted keeps siding with his donors and corporations.

Healthcare costs in Ohio are set to skyrocket if Ohio Republicans let federal healthcare credits expire. Over half a million Ohioans will see premiums double while GOP leaders like Sen. Jon Husted do nothing but say "NO" to every solution we offer.

Ohio Republicans don't want to count eligible ballots if it arrives after Election Day, even if postmarked prior to deadline. In rural Ohio, Dems made gains across the state. Voters rejected GOP failures that drive up costs and hurt farmers. Troy Scott won in Ironton, PJ Errera topped the Kent School Board race, and Karla Frye was re-elected in Zanesville! All proving our message is winning everywhere.

In Ohio, we saw big wins from Mayors Justin Bibb, Wade Kapszukiewicz, Aftab Pureval, and more up & down the ballot. These wins weren't luck, they're the result of leadership that lowers costs, builds communities, and actually delivers results.

We flipped seats and expanded previous democratic majorities in suburban city councils and school boards across the state. In Reynoldsburg, Shannette Strickland beat a MAGA Republican incumbent in the race for City Auditor!

Congratulations to all of our winners! Democrats are ready to keep working to lower costs, build communities, and make life easier for Ohio's working families. Your local Democratic elected officials show up for Ohioans. We can't wait to see what they'll continue to accomplish!

Congratulations to Mayor Aftab Pureval on his re-election! He’s worked to lower costs, make neighborhoods safer, and build a city government that works for everyone, not just the well-connected. Cincinnati re-elected a champion for working families!

Democrats@democrats.org

Congratulations, Aftab Pureval, on winning reelection! Mayor Pureval spent his first term tackling Cincinnati’s biggest challenges, including affordability. He’ll spend the next four years continuing to work towards a safer, more affordable, and more prosperous city.

A federal judge just ruled the Trump-Vance admin likely broke the law by refusing to fund SNAP benefits during their shutdown. They've been ordered to release $6 billion in food aid which is critical for the 1.4 million Ohioans that Republicans put at risk of going hungry.

Trump must now pay out benefits no later than Nov 4th. Affordable food AND healthcare are non-negotiable. While Republicans wring their hands, Ohio Dems like @cityattyklein.bsky.social are fighting back. Now, Trump and Ohio Republicans need to end their shutdown. www.dispatch.com/story/news/p...

More than 1.4M Ohioans, nearly half of them children, rely on SNAP to put food on the table. A federal shutdown threatens this vital lifeline. No family should go hungry because of political gridlock in Washington or budget shortfalls in Columbus. #shutdown #saveSNAP
