Very telling. Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen, after denying that the EU is cowed by Trump and is seeking to de-escalate the Zelenskyy issues with the White House, is asked by @oleryborg.bsky.social if Europe can still trust the US and... pauses for an age www.dr.dk/nyheder/poli...

In 2025 the Trump administration spent considerable effort pressuring the EU to roll back rules meant to stop companies using forced labor in their supply chains. Now Trump imposes a punitive tariff on European companies, officially claiming it’s to punish forced labor. www.dr.dk/nyheder/udla...

23 years ago Denmark joined the US‑led “coalition of the willing” that invaded Iraq. The invasion split Europe. Now a new coalition of the willing meet in Paris. Denmark’s most important ally is no longer in Washington. Tomorrow they will march together on the in Paris. www.dr.dk/nyheder/udla...

NATO foreign ministers meet in Helsingborg, gazing across the water at Hamlet’s Kronborg – and facing their own “to be or not to be” moment. With US commitment in doubt and Europe carrying the load on Ukraine the real question is whether the alliance itself will endure. www.dr.dk/nyheder/udla...

American presidents used to play a leading role in rules-based international cooperation. Not President Trump. In his dealings with the outside world, Trump resembles a travelling salesman more than a powerful international statesman – and that has consequences for the US 👇

Danes now see Germany, Sweden and France as Denmark’s closest alliance partners. In particular, thrust in and confidence in France as an alliance partner has increased significantly in Denmark after the Greenland crisis in January. 2/

Orbán’s European MAGA project is in a coma. His election defeat and empty chair at the EU summit in Cyprus give Europe new room to act: stronger support for Ukraine, tougher sanctions on Russia (and possibly Israel) + momentum to “Orban-proof” the next EU budget. Link below:

Hungary’s 2026 election could unlock vital EU funding for Ukraine, reshape relations inside the EU, and weaken both Putin’s and Trump’s influence in Europe. Above all, a clear and uncontested outcome is crucial to avoid a new transatlantic crisis. Link below

It is not unusual to have several different royal investigators before a government is finally formed. There is no guarantee that the first royal investigator will end up becoming Denmark’s next Prime Minister. 11/

After the 2022 election, it took 42 days to form a government. Depending on this election’s result, many political experts in Denmark believe it could take even longer this time. The Belgian record for government formation, however, is unlikely to be in danger. end/

The first results are expected from 8:15 pm. They come from some very small Danish islands: Askø, Avanakø and Drejø. The islands usually compete to be the first to finish counting the ballots and reporting the result. 3/

There are 1,314 polling stations in Denmark. Within a couple of hours after they close at 8 pm, you can expect a projection of the election result. The projection is more accurate than the exit poll because it is based on actual counted votes. 4/

Men EU-landene stod sammen. Det skabte begrebet "Grønlandsmomentet." Her er historien 👇
