@tolin.ski got into a massive discussion around AI impact to developer's work-life balance. His video about this is likewise amazing. I liked the 3D details on the slides, which gave me a Severance feel. I also enjoyed seeing someone I follow online, whose podcast I've listened to for a while.
@danielroe.dev talk had bold moves in making the slides work together with a live reaction. It was not just fun, but the content was very informative. I'll never forget his humor.
I've been playing around with AI and tests and @debbie.codes talk gave me a practical usage of it. I got particularly interested in her setup and agent workers. 👀
Pokémon is @noeldavies.bsky.social passion. No doubt about that. The engineering complexity blew me away (something I got used to it almost in the end of the day). And I had another #brazilMentioned moment on the point of TS-to-Lua transpilation.
Listening to @tej.as, I had a flashback to visiting the special Apple room at the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley this year. "Taste" was in his every word, making his talk contagious and clear. Happy to listen to another tech person I follow.
@leichteckig.bsky.social was the 1st person I've ever seen drawing her slides during the talk. It's already difficult enough to explain security concepts easily, but she was spotless in every way.
@philippeserhal.com bio said "a lot goes on behind the scenes to make full-stack frontend frameworks work seamlessly"... My oh my. He displayed that precisely. His effort to fit all that in 30min was admirable.
Imposter's Syndrome is a topic I know daily and I'm never tired of hearing about it. And who didn't like to see @acemarke.dev and @tkdodo.eu with lasers? Chef's kiss slides of @atila.io . Another point is that I love to see Brazilian speakers out there. It was #brazilMentioned on stage.
I've used Immer briefly at work, but had no idea about the slow effects that Immer was having on React devs. Thanks, @acemarke.dev I realized we share a love for debugging. And he confirmed he's the Simpsons-avatar-guy I've been following for a long time. Loved when he defined himself like that.
CSS is wearing so many new hats. As usual, @kevinpowell.co brought his best teaching skills. One of the amazing people I have followed for a long time since I switched careers. Back then I learned a lot of CSS with his YouTube videos.
@tkdodo.eu had this soft reminder about listening to your dev instincts. Don't let unused code sit there. Ever. And if you do (or had) there are amazing tools for that: Knip.
I thought I would have enough energy to post more about @zurichjs.com, but I was terribly wrong 😅. I guess I'll have a lot to do in the coming days.
Arnau's workshop @tiptap.dev was very inspiring at @zurichjs.com ! If you want to know more about the editor used in Claude, OpenAI, Cursor and Substack, you can check one of the people behind it: www.arnaugomez.com Btw the editor is used in even more tools you know out there.
This week I'll be spending a couple of days at @zurichjs.com Tomorrow I'll be volunteering at the Engineering Day, and on Friday I'll be joining the conference as an attendee. If you'll be there too, come and say hi.
