Hey wait, I've seen this movie before

The Minnesota Vikings have won all their games. Additionally, they have lost none of their games. All 31 other teams in the NFL have lost at least one of their games. However, we still must ask: Are the Minnesota Vikings good at football?

I mean I guess? But this sorta stuff just takes away any agency from the pitcher. Peralta isn't some September call up, this is his 9th major league season. And regardless of how new Willard is, somehow Scott, Thornton, and McLean all had good to great years at the same time.

Chelsea Janes on SNY earlier today said Met pitching coach Justin Willard might have had trouble communicating with the veteran pitchers in his first year as a major league coach. It would explain why it didn't work out with Peralta but the rookie bullpen was so good post trade deadline.

It's amazing how adaptable "A man takes a river into the jungle. Amid cruelty and brutality, in a process of outer decay that reflects the inner, the veneer of civilization is stripped away, while at the same time the pretensions of empire are revealed to be farcical" is as a story.

I think this is why, if it comes down to Rays/Brewers, go Brewers. Rays just seem like they don't have the fan base. It'd be cool for them for sure! But really seems like it'd be something different for Milwaukee.

Concourses are absolute scenes right now. The local ballclub means something here, man.

they said the left and the right just need to sit down and talk to each other and they were absolutely right. this is the greatest conversation of all time.

You would think that Natan Sharansky of all people would be able to look at how the entire apparatus of a state could be turned against a less well-off nearby populace without formally committing genocide. But you'd be wrong!

Sometimes when the entire world tells you that you're on the wrong side of an issue, it doesn't make you some brave truth-teller standing boldly athwart history. Sometimes it just makes you wrong. www.tabletmag.com/sections/new...

You can tell when Scott Hanson's mouth gets way ahead of his brain because he'll say things like "Drew Brees has more cultural significance to his particular city than any athlete in American history."

I am now wondering if there are *any* children’s books you could get an excellent 10 hour series out of

There used to be a place near me in NJ called Cheeburger Cheeburger where if you finished a 1lb burger, full plate of fries, and a milkshake, you got your picture on the wall. For 130 American dollarydoos, you better put my face on the fucking scoreboard if I even buy this thing.

Umpires and coaches discussed what happens if a ball were to hit the roof during the ground rules meeting pregame before Game 1 Brewers Third Base Coach Matt Erickson joked, "Haven't seen it here in six years, so it will happen tonight"

Ok, turns out Sale, Weiss, and all of Braves management collectively blacked out for the end of the Phillies game. They absolutely deserve to lose this series. What a fucking stupid, self inflicted mistake

Lev Gerstle@onmylevels.bsky.social

I just don't see him NOT starting game 2 unless Sale, Weiss, and all of Braves management collectively blacked out for the end of the Phillies game. They knew what the situation was and what was waiting ahead of them. Someone would have said no if it was going to jeopardize the next series.

You put John Mateer’s brain in a fish and it’ll start mooing

Bobby Football@robpaul.bsky.social

John Mateer gonna John Mateer, and Chris Cole gonna Chris Cole. One is a bad QB and the other is a potential first-round pick

just love how Trinidad Chambliss plays actual QB on top of his playmaking. he gets grouped in with the runaround guys (like the guy he’s playing against) and he’s so much more than that.
