For the record for future historians who'll never see this, the faux-macho posturing and unnaturally deepened voices favored by weak men who somehow have money and power is just as embarrassing right now as it will seem to be through the lens of history. It's pathetic, too.

Starting to feel that between actively costing them the election (and, likely, their party's continued existence) and completely wrecking everything he could touch, the open alliance with Russia will finally be the straw that gets Republicans to impeach after November 3rd.

In 2026, "right-wing" means "pro-crime." "Left-wing" means "pro-law." We should ask why this is. It's not an ambiguous point open to debate, not anymore. But, while we're on the subject, I see a lot of things under that "legal" aegis that sure sound like crimes. But make one person rich...

"I used AI to 'help' write this." Yeah, we know. The awkward phrases, nonsensical arguments, hyper-literate punctuation, and every other hallmark of slop is very apparent to anyone with a functioning brain stem. Just stop writing if you need "Claude" to help you. Utter witless hacks everywhere.

The election ratfuckery is getting desperate. These criminals aren't competent enough to succeed, but it's frustrating to consider how much we're going to need to strip down to the frame and rebuild after we've jailed the lot of them.

The thing about this, the thing that never seems to get said, is that we have to actually hold these criminals to account and lock them up, not just comment on their corruption. Biden and Garland didn't, now we have a Nazi government. "Business as usual" is a suicide pact, establishmentarians.

Are we just going to ignore all the "Founding Fathers" crap that, like the Confederate descendants erecting statues of traitors a century ago, is directly harkening to a time when human enslavement was considered morally defensible? The fascists certainly aren't interested in liberal secularism.

That which fills me with despair is that this administration will be described like previously corrupt administrations in the history books. Ask any schoolkid and they will not understand how rich men in power actively caused most of the economic crises that we've experienced as a nation.

Are journalists only now waking up to the reality that the President actively seeks their demise? Is that why the hacks keep acting as stenographers instead of reporters, because they think it'll save them? After 10 years of watching him viciously maul everyone he encounters??

What gets to me about our political "system" is that its deficiency was apparent to me in middle school. I'd been made to study the Presidential election in 5th grade and the bullshit was patently obvious to a 10-year-old.

Only the stupidest motherfucker on the planet would fail at criminal tariffs as intimidation, screw the national economy, and try it again right before an election. I guess we're letting him go out on his own terms, just like his hero Adolf down in his precious bunker.

We're sure doing a thing in this country when I'm having to talk to people left of me on the political compass about how, yes, sexual assault is unethical, even in fictional form. Survivors like me get to learn something new about the people they can't trust every day.

Silly me, forgot that interacting with the reply-guy is just feeding them. How absurd to imagine that a straightforward discussion on the internet couldn't be immediately derailed by ignoring 90% of the discussion.

Live your life such that we don't learn when everyone got online by our incredulous response to your sudden death. Nor one where propagandists rush to whitewash your entire life. Live a life that brings an outpouring of sincere grief for the loss.

Other nations, much larger than Maine, have election campaigns that last 4-6 weeks. The notion that Maine Dems have no time to react to a problem of their own making is ridiculous. I need to get away from the click-hungry political wonks.

Dear independent journalists: For the love of heaven, learn the difference between a personal and professional account. I want to follow the latter, but you don't post there. You invite the drama and I swear you perpetuate it as an income stream by using your personal account for your JOB.

With Republicans panicking and November basically a lock for the Democratic party, I really look forward to January when the Vichy Dems (the establishment) continue politely rubber-stamping fascism and punching left. Nothing will fundamentally change. I would love to be wrong for once.

Refusing to sign the housing bill is hilarious. A cheap, easy win that everyone could trumpet and distract from the corruption, destruction, murder, and the Epstein scandal, but since the mad king wasn't involved and keeps losing, so he wants to lose harder & louder. He's 500 greasy rats in a suit.

Reed O'Connor needs to be impeached and prosecuted. Dunno by whom in the latter case, but this man more than any judge below the robed wizards of the SCOTUS has actively tried to destroy this country and been allowed to run rampant. He's *surely* collecting bribes to do it.

Just curious, is anyone going to do anything *before* Musk's paper empire falls? He keeps folding his companies into each other to hide the massive operating losses and every index fund is going to be forcibly bought into SpaceX which will likely fail within a couple years.

The only job that can be filled adequately by sycophantic chatbots and hallucinatory algorithms is management. And they're weirdly the ones most thrilled at handing off their job to the machine. I'd call this win-win: fire the C-suite. (The supervisors who do the real work will take over, not "AI")

So the convenient "assassination attempt" happened during with lax security at an event Trump has never attended before just when the chaos magnate needed a distraction. Just like in Butler, this was almost certainly a fake attack. "Nancy, I forgot to duck" vibes through and through.

It sure is cute how centrists claim we've memory-holed the failed impeachments but conveniently memory-hole Merrick Garland's refusal to prosecute open and violent treason. It was only after the House J6 Cmte did his job that he even started, and it took 6 months after to appoint Jack Smith.

Failure to prosecute the many crimes of this administration -- which is all but guaranteed because laws only apply to the poor -- is proof that every single part of the DC machine needs to be dismantled. That literally every Dem has not come out against the threats is eternally damning.

Seriously figured these idiots wouldn't be dumb enough to restart student debt repayment in the middle of an affordability crisis and a latent recession, especially not with a costly and unpopular war adding further financial trauma. Someone has to graduate bottom of the class, I guess.

So now that we know that pretty much the entire administration were close friends with Epstein long after even the thinnest fig leaf of innocence was torn away, what next? They're not gonna prosecute themselves, that's the whole point. Will the cult finally revolt, at least?

Could we stop saying that ICE murdering Americans has been a "step too far", please? If it was a step too far, ICE and all the people responsible would be in manacles awaiting arraignment or trial right now. Until that happens, they're still in power and nothing has changed.

Also, the murderers are multi-year veterans of these agencies. Yeah, the training and recruitment requirements are nonexistent at this point, but it's the psychos who've been in for 10 years who are executing innocent Americans in the streets.

I have wanted, since I was a teenager, for the USA to abandon its police-state grip on the rest of the world. To chill the fuck out, 'cause I was born in the tail end of the Cold War. I never figured it would happen in the stupidest possible way.

I have said it before and will repeat it forever. I know it comes somewhat from my bias as an artist, but I'm also a working scientist. Fascism, especially the current brand, is an aesthetic movement. Some are motivated by bigotry, but mostly the fascists just want to redecorate per their whims.

Realistically, to recover from the destruction and data theft, we are going to need to rebuild the entire federal government infrastructure from the frame up. This won't happen. I have no idea what monster Frankenstein will sew together on the slab, but it won't be starring in a del Toro film.

I hope to never understand the weird impulse some people have to strangle hope in its crib. We know the Epstein files will never be released by Trump. But stop insisting that the effort is already over. You're being fucking weird, which is nosing in on Republican's territory.

A year ago, I said that we would watch the Democrats, particularly the establishment gerontarchs of the Senate, fold repeatedly to Trump just like they did the first time. They started flaccidly complying before the inauguration, but last night was just another example of it. They need to go away.

In 2020, Biden assured wealthy donors that nothing would fundamentally change. He followed through on that promise and 4 years of detente occurred while the wreckers planned. I truly fear the impulse elderly pols will have to pretend that 2019 was a good year to reset to. After we survive this.

American journalism was full to the gills with pretentious and prissy gadabouts in 2015 when the industry was dying. It was saved by a combination of Trump capturing every headline and right-wing billionaire propagandists buying them up. Of course the cowards misrepresent everything Trump does.

Some day we're going to reckon with the society-wide mental health damage being done by 2025. I hope it can be a little more sincere than the MAGA-influenced histrionics about covid and having to care about other people. Maybe if we remove billionaires from media, there's a chance.

I am seeing that the trend of right-on-right violence continues. Reminder that Mangione was also definitely right-of-center. The rush to blame "The Left" (whoever they are) certainly does get undermined by nearly every murderer being "conservative." Which is a euphemism.

As liberals performatively wring their hands, I feel it incumbent on me to point out that the violence will continue as long as the fascist movement exists. No amount of good will and happy thoughts will change that. So cut the crap already.

I keep seeing people wonder where the vengeful lightning from heaven is while Republican christofascists lie flagrantly and shamelessly about Trump and Epstein. Seems like a solid argument for atheism. It certainly doesn't suggest good things that people invoke "God" while protecting predators.

As more and more companies kiss the ring despite the circus falling apart in front of their eyes (gotta ram that illegal merger through somehow), will we hold them to account in the aftermath? I ask rhetorically. We won't. Literally look at all the companies still around who did so in Germany.

Has anyone commented on the fact that "birthright citizenship" is a colonizer tactic to dispossess indigenous people and legitimize the invaders? I hate that the admin is playing this game, but are we just going to ignore *WHY* the US has a jus soli policy?

What is maddening is that when we escape this hell of some of our's making the majority will demand we return to exactly what allowed all of this to happen and we'll backslide within months at most nothing will fundamentally change not for the people whose wealth matters more than human life

You are up to date.
