After people close to me have given it high praise, I'm giving Expedition 33 a shot. So far I'm not very impressed. However, it provoked one thought so far. Starting with a beachhead massacre of a bunch of characters I do not know is much less dramatic than the game seems to think it is...

Slowly finding dispersed survivors to build up your party is the cliche way to do the story so that you can slowly add complexity to combat. However, a more gripping story would involve starting with the whole crew and slowly losing them XCOM style.

Remember how games used to have licensed music in their menus. Remember how some of those absolutely slapped? NFS Underground 2 NHL 2003 Burnout 3 Pro Skater Why don't live service games do that instead of their bland background noise? "the licenses run out" Cool, you do seasons already.

"It costs too much" Bruh i guaruntee you can pay someone in coffee to create sets that would cost you next to nothing yet slap. You dont need to license imagine dragons or beyonce. You ARE the platform, you can pay pennies to small acts who will definitely benefit from being on your sets.

I see it now. Auto manufacturing collapses. Tesla remains as the only American auto company. It begins to spread to other industries Tesla becomes the primary source of american manufacturing. It's survival becomes a national security issue. War is now essential for minerals.

The king of over promises stands in the oval office and states that tesla can do what others can't, prove the economists wrong and trump right. Commerce collapses as business becomes impossible without fraud and corruption. America's enshitification is complete.

K so I "get" that they want to crash the US economy and reboot it on crypto. But what does that even look like? Ignoring "Which crypto do you pick?" What becomes the reserve currency? How will we measure the value of crypto if not measuring against the USD?

IF Deepseek turned out to be a smoke and mirrors show with humans behind the wheel. The economic and psychological impacts its introduction have on the US and Taiwan look like good enough reasons to conduct said show. Either win the race or make the race seem meaningless.

You are up to date.
