Today is National Black Cat Day. This is my little buddy Duncan, a Humane Society rescue kitty. He's elegant, polite, and a perfect gentleman.

The Edmonton Heritage Community Band will perform at a Remembrance Day ceremony November 11, 10:00 am at The Prince of Wales Armouries 10440 - 108 Ave. Nw

If you live in the Edmonton area, we'd love to see you at the concert. Mission Hill Brass – 2026 Fall Concert Friday, October 23 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Admission: $25 at the door | Children (under 12) free. St. Albert United Church 20 Green Grove Drive St. Albert, Alberta T8N 5H6 Canada

Whenever I go to the bathroom, Duncan posts himself in the doorway to guard me. I'm not sure what he's protecting me from, but I do appreciate his efforts.

Found an old abandoned bike last week and decided to bring it back to life. It's an Apollo Custom Sport vintage 10-speed. Needed some parts I already had lying around and a couple I had to buy. It's actually a great ride, and it feels really good to ride again - but my bum hurts!

One of my pet peeves is websites that pop up a field into which one is supposed to type a response, but don't automatically put the cursor in that field. Most of the time I get my response typed before I realize nothing has been entered, then have to go back and click the field and type again.

The Grievous Angels new single In the Time of Monsters drops this morning. It may be the most raw and politically charged song ever recorded by the band. It is from the album Revolution available here: grievousangels2.bandcamp.com/album/revolu... Check out the video youtu.be/3PjD64rXjCs?...

Canada's new fighter plane is 100% made in Canada, has vertical takeoff and landing capability, is equipped with both heat and scent activated automatic targeting systems, and will strike terror into the heart of any opponent.

I just heard an interesting Freudian slip on YouTube. A political commentator referred to the U.S. president as "Donald Tramp". He immediately corrected himself, but I had a good chuckle about it.

Even though there is audio extant of first responders saying that CPR was being performed on Mitch McConnell, many are saying they don't think he had a heart attack because video shows no urgency in taking him to the ambulance. I think they have overlooked another explanation for the lack . . .

of urgency. The possibility that although CPR was initiated as a matter of protocol, it soon became apparent that he was already beyond recovery before they even arrived. If he was already dead, there was no need for urgency in transporting him.

I have two computers. One runs Linux Mint Cinnamon and one runs Windows XP. I keep the XP computer because it will run apps that I use every day that won't run on anything newer. I use Linux Mint for everything online. I'd like to use Linux Zorin, because it will allegedly run XP apps, but . . .

Its interface is completely incomprehensible to me. I've searched online for ways to make Zorin look and act like Mint Cinnamon, and all I can find are ways to make Cinnamon look and act like Zorin. Why anyone would want to do that is a complete mystery to me. A-h-h-h!
