TIL AWS Lambda "cold-starts" take 1-3s for PHP frameworks. Tested with Laravel, Symfony and Bref.sh. Laravel Vapor is likely the same.
I think the lesson here is to put the right network (internal: true) in you compose config. geoff.tuxpup.com/posts/psa_do... #devops #cybersecurity #dockercompose #docker
With recent NPM hits, this guide becoming more and more relevant: github.com/lirantal/npm... #npm #cybersecurity
#Docker Swarm is still maintained, but no longer has an up-to-date documentation of its compose.yml config specification (which differs from compose in quite a few places now AFAIK) github.com/docker/cli/i...
This article still has information on what's not available under Swarm compared to regular Compose: docs.planetary-quantum.com/getting-star... Had to replace depends_on with a wait script in my entrypoint Otherwise, Swarm seems to work well for my simple needs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
An easy way to get TypeScript interfaces from Laravel models. github.com/BasedCollect... (Made an up-to-date version of the og laravel-typescript package)
Self-host anything for 1$/mo: @scaleway.com, a French cloud provider has a special server instance - STARDUST1-S (1GB of RAM & 1VCPU). Normally, it would cost about $5/mo, but if you remove the "Public IPv4" and keep the "Public IPv6" option - it goes down to $1/mo. #hosting #servers
I no longer get why someone would avoid modern JavaScript. It feels so wonderful having functional components that take props and always produce the same desired outcomes. The bundle size can be slimmer thanks to @preactjs.com
I also saw someone use @tailscale.com as a way of accessing their servers and closing down SSH for "improved" security. But for now - I'm sceptical: what if Tailscale gets hacked or goes out of business? Why'd someone rely on a third party for access?

🚨Huge news – i've officially opening a founder co-working space in east London🚨 Introducing... ramenspace.com 🍜 Co-working should be a community of likeminded people, not just a desk space. Join us for a free trial day! And RT if you like what we're doing.
Now that's a clever way to promote setting up a call from @scalar.com 😂 (notice left bottom corner)
Does anyone else think it's a bug? github.com/phoenixframe... #MyElixirStatus #PhoenixFramework #ElixirLang #Phoenix
Just realised Contexts in Phoenix are optional. In fact, one could customize the stock generators to get rid of them entirely. fly.io/phoenix-file... I don't think it makes sense to hide all of the app logic into an additional layer early in the product development (esp. crud) #MyElixirStatus
I wonder how many new repositories are created on @github.com every day. 🤔
