I am probably going to write an essay connecting themes of Boards of Canada's music to historical and cultural contexts of New Mexico. Will anyone read it or enjoy it besides me? No, but that's not the point.
I used to really be into movies. Now I kinda hate each one. But I liked Primetime a lot. I thought it was funny. Robert Pattinson’s Chris Hansen was like Bela Lugosi’s Dracula. To me, that’s really funny.
I work w/ this hilarious kid who’s in 8th grade. He’s barely 4’0 and has developmental issues. He’s very gifted & loves to crochet. He has a problem w/ cussing however. I asked him how he’s doing & he told me “who gives a fuck. My bitch ass is here and I’ve got to put up with some science bullshit”
My mom is trying to convince me to propose to my girlfriend before Christmas.
“It’s every girl’s dream”
“She’s 45 and isn’t fooling around anymore.”
Damn, ma. Let me take her to Austin and New Orleans in the spring. New Orleans is where you ask a woman to be Mrs. Dr. Chile
Love Albuquerque but here’s my review:
Good: Vietnamese restaurants everywhere with new Afghan and Korean options and a cool kebab truck downtown.
Bad: it’s hot as fuck lately (moved during a heatwave). Newer coffee shops are pretentious as hell.
Okay, I have a soft spot for Jackass. I was basically raised by the tv series, but I can’t stand the name “Poopies” and am super annoyed with everyone my age pretending like those movies belong on The Criterion Collection
When I moved in to Albuquerque yesterday, there were hot air balloons floating over the city skyline. Photo doesn’t do it justice but I took this from my new spot in downtown ABQ the morning of my move in. Taking it as a sign that I’ve made the right decision
There are two samples of women in songs where I think the woman who’s being sampled must be one super cool lady.
1) The woman who says “Sweetie, Darling” in “Til Polarity’s End” by Cindy Lee
2) The woman who talks about swimming pools and dying in “Blood In The Labyrinth” by Boards of Canada
Looking into housing in Albuquerque has been fun and depressing. There are a couple of very good options but most of what I’m finding is $250k homes that have washers and dryers next to the toilet
