At every level of football EVERY. LEVEL. you are coached to “play until you hear the whistle”. So on Sunday, even though no one in the stadium heard a whistle, a referee took it upon himself to eliminate 100 years of football teaching because his feelings got hurt (and his nuts). Cool. Cool.

Come on. We’d be talking about how they overcame terrible officiating to win. Two things are true: reffing affected the outcome, and the Packers failed in key moments.

If Trey Smack could kick. If Evan Williams doesn’t drop an INT. If Josh Jacobs doesn’t drop a touchdown in the end zone, are we even talking about the refs after  Packers vs.  Lions?

That Progressive ad about turning into your parents and not being able to find the game is FALSE ADVERTISING! They ARE trying to hide the game from you. In EVERY SPORT! This is gaslighting propaganda!

We have DeForest at home

The Packers are exploring a potential trade for three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner as injuries thin their defensive line. His contract situation could create an opportunity, but Green Bay’s salary cap concerns complicate the move. atozsports.com/nfl/green-ba...

Gamesmanship. Nice.

Packers HC Matt LaFleur on Jared Goff: "He's done an unbelievable job. To not throw and interception all season long, five games in for them, is pretty impressive. He does a great job in terms of if you just give him a sliver of light, he's going to thread the needle."

The year is 1989. You’re at the Corner Bar in Eagle River, Wisconsin. ‘Once Bitten, Twice Shy’ by Great White is playing on the juke box. You have a pitcher of Old Milwaukee, and you’re watching Don Majkowski throw dimes to Sterling Sharpe on a 20” TV hanging in the corner.

I don’t not think, with the departure of Mark Murphy, the league is testing Ed Policy’s reaction to these wildly unreasonable roughing the passer calls. This is somewhat tied to a larger effort to install an actual owner that would be deferential to the league.

A car that pulls out of its parking space because it’s too tight? We are making people into babies. Grow up, bang your door into theirs, and drive away like humans have done throughout history.
