probably not gonna be using this place as a "home base" or anything but will be hanging around still on the hunt for a platform that isn't dogshit, will probably just bite the bullet and just make my own website at some point but in the meantime will just be bouncing between platforms atm

i'm seeing less and less engagement on this site and more and more right wing idiots joining. the bluesky team are actively bending the rules of their own site to platform and defend pathetic neonazis, and even people making relatively harmless comments about them are being heavily suppressed

anyways, if you want to keep up with my work i'll be posting on the other sites in my linktree probably will be posting my artwork + gamedev stuff on twitter. for personal thoughts posts i'm consiiiidering hopping back over to tumblr, although that site's also got problems linktr.ee/paledoptera

but as time goes on it becomes clearer to me that bluesky isn't really that breathe of fresh air, just the same shit in a different toilet twitter has a bumbling buffoon right wing ceo, bluesky has a bumbling buffoon right wing ceo twitter censors LGBT content, bluesky censors LGBT content

twitter breaks often and adds features no-one wants, bluesky doesn't even have the courtesy of adding any features twitter's algorithm constantly shows you hateful content, bluesky's algorithm shows you pages of content that you don't care about and then might randomly show you untagged diaper porn

when everyone (including me) jumped over from twitter, bluesky felt like a breathe of fresh air. sure, it wasn't PERFECT (with the site missing crucial features and with common outages) but it was a vast improvement over twitter's hate-driven algorithms, arbitrary bans and blatant censorship

in the early days i forgave the wonky algorithm, the lack of engagement and the lack of features because "hey! at least its a place that isnt run by nazis that wont tolerate my existence!" that was the ONE thing this site had going for it for fucks sake. that was its ONE advantage

really awesome that there's legit just no online safe space for trans people en masse. it feels like every single time one is *about* to be, the mod team bends over backwards to protect the people who hate us and something fucking stupid like this happens

its interesting how the deltarune secret bosses are getting more and more intertwined with the main story - ch1: easily missable sidequest - ch2: missable sidequest, but also has a mandatory fight - ch3: mandatory "unwinnable" fight with huge plot importance - ch4: straight up a main character

i think the logical conclusion of this is a boss you fight on every route but has a "hard mode" fight if you're doing the shadow crystal quest (and/or snowgrave since it seems related) you know how deltarune's secret bosses are like "missed" undertale fights? my vote's on it being asgore

random leftists: Another win! A lawyer in Nowhere, Middleof Kentucky raised an eyebrow at the US government breaking the law. This will surely translate to consequences next 5 tweets: (the us government brazenly breaking several laws with no consequence)

its mostly a personal preference thing since i'm using windows at my job and its annoying having to switch between 2 different sets of keyboard shortcuts but linux support just kinda sucks. nvidia drivers never work properly, theres some important apps that dont run through wine or proton etc

Paledoptera 🦋
@paledoptera.bsky.social

for example making music on linux is a fucking nightmare, video editing software doesnt work properly, opentablet driver works but is finnicky, that kinda stuff small things just kinda grating me over time to the point i just said fuck this

oh wow there was a LOT of new content in the ut 10th anniversary stream i wonder if this is leading up to some kinda content update, some of the new side-areas feel like they fit perfectly in a regular playthrough but some of them almost feel like new-game+
