#FungiFriday Jelly Tongue Tooth Fungus also known as Cat's Tongue Fungus(Pseudohynum gelatinosum) because the underside resembles a cat's tongue. Found on the underside of a decaying conifer in Greater Manchester whilst out with North West Fungus Group.

#MushroomMonday A cluster of tiny Common Bird's Nest Fungi (Crucibulum laeve) found in Greater Manchester whilst out with NW Fungus Group. Each nest contains 10-15 tiny "eggs" which are the spores packages and are released by splashes of heavy rain.

#Wildflowerhour Some of the flowers seen on my travels in North West England this week, including Violet hybrid. Is it early or late 🤔?? Names in ALT.

#MushroomMonday A tiny Hare'sfoot Inkcap (Coprinopsis lagopus) found in a North Lancashire woodland. It will complete its entire lifecycle within twenty four hours.

#Wildflowerhour A few flowers found in North Lancashire. Eyebright, Common Field Speedwell, Welsh Poppy, Devil's Bit Scabious, Hemp Agrimony, Common Chickweed and Foxglove.

#WildWebsWednesday Although it was very worn, I was delighted to photograph my first open wing shot of a female Brown Hairstreak (Thecla betulae) basking in the sunshine on an oak leaf in North Lancashire.

#Wildflowerhour #MyFavouritePlant. Hard to choose just one, however it has to be the beautiful Small White Orchid (Pseudorchis albida). I saw this rare diminutive flower for the first time back in June in North Yorkshire.

#MushriomMonday. Magenta Rustgill (Gymnopilus dilepsis) seen whilst out with North West Fungus Group in Cumbria last Saturday. This rare fungus grows on wood chip and is non-native, originating from SE Asia. The caps soon fade to orange-brown.
