"Everybody is being fucked with constantly in tiny little ways by most apps and services, and I believe that billions of people being fucked with at once in all of these ways has profound psychological and social consequences" @edzitron.com www.wheresyoured.at/never-forgive-them
Our software is treating us all like unconsenting paypigs and we can't turn it off. Whee, I guess.
Mockmoon was one of the original creators I started to follow almost 20y ago. The videos are so impressive, they're still insanely well edited with crazy quality by today's standards. youtu.be/LeOl3bghNRM
It's a real shame the blog is no longer up, but it's still accessible via Way back machine. Incredible work on all fronts. I still re-watch those amazing time-lapses from time to time. web.archive.org/web/20220701...
I was looking at @leaflet.pub and I think it's such a cool idea, but I can't publish anything without BlueSky login and BlueSky doesn't allow to manage OAuth apps once authorized. Checking email I noticed that I got 2 post takedowns few months ago(no in-app notification!) Account gone = blog gone
In case someone suggests bsky.social/account to manage OAuth apps - Anisota had permissions and didn't showed here for me at all. This confirms vibecoded nature of BlueSky and while it's great because of people here, it's a disaster in terms of the code, infrastructure, management and moderation.

So we're back to centralized accounts with BlueSky/Atmosphere just like you would use Google for everything and they could ban you with the ai tools with no real option to appeal. It *is* another google, since they can on a whim take away access to stuff you created. atmosphereaccount.com/apps

Amazing! It's weird to shill for a browser, but Vivaldi has not only great adblock, but also extensions on Android. Keeping Vivaldi for now on the phone since Firefox destroyes battery life. vivaldi.com/blog/vivaldi...

Bluesky is completely vibecoded by now and GitHub is so often down that aliens and mole people could claim the attack as well. They're just poorly made. Believing in hacker stories is like believing that I'm personally controlling Trump to be a horrible human today mrshu.github.io/github-statu...
#Bluesky had a major outage yesterday, from around 15:00 CEST onward. Meanwhile, pro #Iranian #hackers have claimed responsibility for a #cyberattack on the network. They also claim to have been behind the #GitHub outage last week: 🌍 threatbeat.com/attacks-and-...

Such a stupid time to be alive. We have technology so good that it doesn't allow to pillage people so now we're worried that investors want out? 🫠 I get the challenges of storing energy but not everything has to be a private, for-profit venture. nz.finance.yahoo.com/news/venture...

I didn't like the video quality on Samsung s25, so I was messing with settings and noticed the dumbest thing. Downscaled to 1080p, 8K recording looks amazing compared to any other setting. How about using that quality when I set 1080p@30? Hardware is great, it's just poorly written software again 🤦♂️
