Interacting with WoW Forever beta has been one of the most miserable experience in recent memory Any commentary - in either direction - will result in ridicule. People trying to act coy while they move goalposts and make fun of you. If W4E fails it'll be because Warcraft attracts horrible people.

To put this in perspective chestnut trees used to be dominant species in the United States. Billions of trees were killed by fungal blight and now fully grown America chestnuts are functionally extinct. There is no getting them back. Ever. All for a data center. www.gadgetreview.com/one-of-ameri...

Wow:Forever beta has been real interesting. Much of the stuff I see people complain about and/or discuss would, if implemented, result in Forever morphing into something closely resembling retail. I don't mean that in a negative way per se but just as a funny observation.

Other MOBAs: "What if we created the most attractive being ever? The essence of attraction distilled into tangible form!" Valve: "What if Jack Nicholson was a rat who led a people's revolution to take control of Long Island and segregate from the United States" Deadlock characters are the best.

The whole RMT thing highlights an inherent problem within the warcraft community and i'm not talking about the blatant disregard for ToS by streamers - which also sucks btw It's the shortcuts to bypass the game. Buying gold to gear fast completely misses the point of the entire game.

Classic, and by extension Forever, is about the journey. It's the people and the experiences you have along the way. The random person you build a rivalry with as you farm the same herbs, or the satisfaction of finally getting the mount you saved up for and knowing what went into it.

Buying gold destroys that experience - not just for you but also for everyone else. I say that because RMTing will embolden bots which will nuke layering in certain areas and destroy the server economy. You're actively paying to make the game worse for everyone when you buy gold. It sucks.

I hate the wow housing system and how it interacts with real money. Many builds use them, and I had initially considered getting one until I noticed that you have to buy them individually. If I want 11 Lush Garden Stable(s) I have to buy it 11 times for cash. Shit is so predatory. It's disgusting.

I actually really enjoy the notion of the Skyborne in Forever but don't like their visual presentation. Having a part of their society be fanatic devotees worshipping Al'akir could be a cool narrative choice that can tie into the OG vanilla Thunderfury stuff.

Something interesting about the recent years of Blizzard is that Holly Longdale seems to be the only person who can incite hype in the crowd on the same level as Chris Metzen did in his prime. She just brings a good vibe and the crowd responds to it. She seems to be doing a lot of things right.

Just booted up #Warcraft3 #Reforged to check the new graphics. Shown with the picture below is OG, Definitive, and finally launch Reforged textures. The new ones are pretty good IMO. I like it :)

Finished 'The Sworn Sword' story by GRRM today. 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' was good, but this one really hooked me. The nuance and moral complexity was really good, and Duncan was an absolute unit of a moral compass. Looking forward to reading 'The Mystery Knight' and hope it is as good.

Zul'jan might legit be the biggest moron in Warcraft. What is Malacrass? A spirit. What is he doing? Tricking you. Sucks that blizzard had the opportunity to create an interesting character with complex motivations and instead chose to create a sacrificial lamb that is dumb as a rock.

I don't know if people realize how valuable retweeting indie developers is. It can add 100s of wishlists to an indie game, which can accumulate to mean the difference between a developer being able to finish a game and forcing them back into a 9 to 5 job. Maseylia is now Out on Steam! Thanks all :)

Consider myself an OK-ish player at best so getting top 3% leaderboard spot on one of the new, harder content, bosses in ZZZ felt good. It's a fun addition. Love that you pick from a set cast so content is tuned to their gear. Makes it feel more rewarding when you pull it off. Was fun trying Hugo.

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.

New 8-man duty in FF14 is called 'Beyond the Lifestream' and is a collaboration with FF7. Sephiroth is from FF7. You know who is in the lifestream right now in FF14? Zenos. There's only one logical conclusion to this series of duties:

This whole physical disc discussion around the PS5 made me realize how much it matters to me that I own what I buy. Had me visit the local used-goods store for the first time in a while, picked up some of the games I used to own as a kid. Guess we're (re)building the collection. Good first haul!

I miss going to game stores to browse. I'd wager 66% of my favorites came from renting at the library or randomly getting a game because of a cool cover. Looking at pictures and reading pitches on the back of boxes were fun and integral. Getting fed a curated web-store feed just isn't the same.

Denshattack! is stellar! One of the most fun games i've played in a long while. Comparison is the death of originality, but the easiest would be to say it has the gameplay of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, visual presentation of Jet Set Radio, and wild characters of a Studio Trigger anime. Go buy it!

Just finished the 12.1 lead-in and I gotta say... Zul'jan is being written like an absolute moron. The reason he was interesting was his complex moral struggle, and his quite frankly justified antagonism towards an oppressive regime that pushed them (amani) out of their home.

Zul'jan on the other hand can, at most reach a state of forgiveness. The goal was internal. A choice to release his anger and resentment toward the elven nation who has harmed his people and erases their culture. Tenuous peace without letting them back into the forest and into their lives.

Having him go nuts after a couple of quests, kill his uncle, and then immediately go "oh well" and join up with the vilebranch removes any and all nuance from his arc. It makes him objectively wrong and will likely result in his death. No pay-off in any way. Just an absolute waste.

Zul'jan and Zul'jarra represent two outcomes for struggle. Zul'jarra wants reconciliation for her people. She sees a need for interacting with the elves to rebuild trust, accountability, and to bring peace and safety that can allow her people to prosper.

Rolled Velina in Zenless because her kit seemed like something that would finally make my favorite character, Burnice, better. Levelled her, geared her, and went in to test her on the new boss. Burnice popped fire anomaly on Velinas tornado and the boss lost 2/3rds HP. 3.0 rules. Having fun! :D

Billionaires are such bozos. I'd be buying commissions non-stop, ordering fully rendered shitposts, art of my favorite characters in the style of my favorite artists, and funding cool projects if I had a big amount of disposable cash. Born to be a renaissance noble, forced to be a poor modern man.

Summer Games Fest was absolutely stacked and then Nintendo decides to show up to a direct the day after with a new Fire Emblem trailer, Pokopia DLC, Kingdom Hearts 4 and Ocarina of Time Remake. Every single developer just decided to lock the F in this year.
