Hard to swallow pill: the biggest problem with the "synthwave scene" is that it has more producers than fans. The vast majority of consumers are not in it for the music and the persons themselves - they are in it for the vibe and the aesthetic. Very few artists have actual _fans_.

Man, so all these people using AI for their music don’t even care about making music… they just want attention and money. Would be nice to have some names, I’d share them without thinking twice.

you guys have no idea how many established synthwave producers in the scene have switched to using AI to generate all of their music. i’m aware of five of them now and it’s fucking depressing that none of the fans know, and being able to pick it out feels like a curse
