Leaving aside that the comparison is absurd and offensive, if I was Jim I wouldn't be evoking the organisations that tried so hard to keep Black Americans down in case someone asks the origins of their adjacent dislike of Catholics, and whether that's pure coincidence.

Ireland has some responsibility on this. One of the greatest contributions we could be making to collective EU & global democracy & security (far more useful then disastrous attempts to remove the triple lock) would be having the courage to step up to our role as digital regulator in a serious way.

Overheard in the Café - "it will be interesting this week, Israeli elections, to see if Netanyahu gets in..". Clearly the media have kept up their framing of this 'conventional state': it's just another election in a normal country (whatever that is these days).

I always thought that Bryson was an extremely banal figure who, as Gerry Kelly pointed out directly to him during the flag protests, is basically no threat to Nationalism and reconciliation in Northern Ireland. Still do. Sinn Fein strategists will be delighted.

They are both correct. I've been working on this issue professionally (not at DRCC) since around 2018 and the job is tough but simple: you have to communicate the facts as evidenced by mountains of studies and bitter experience. Your job is not to reflect government policy.
