Here's a recent translation I commissioned of Yoko Shimomura's essay printed in the insert of the original SMRPG soundtrack CD from 1996! pidgezero-one.notion.site/Yoko-Shimomu...
UPDATE: School starting soon, I've been slowing down posting now for a few weeks since I've moved. I need to kinda recenter, try to just enjoy art and not worry about posting for a bit.
I'll be returning to regular posting and actually figure out a schedule that works in the future.
If you want to support me, and help me afford a better computer for streaming, better drawing tablet, capture card, being able to go to artist alleys, and generally just afford rent, feel free to donate to my Ko-fi!

If anyone knows any good Vtubing tools or tricks, let me know. Kinda nervous, I don't really love my voice but it would be nice to play some games and draw on stream! I'm a bit awkward haha.
I'd probably play retro games and stuff that would be easier to stream, my computer set up is kinda garbo.
But yeah! Any advice would be helpful. I also haven't been really pushing my GoFundMe because I'm hanging in there, I get financial aid from school which has been very helpful.
But anything is appreciated! I will probably point towards my Ko-fi in the future instead of GFM.

I got some money during the summer that I used to try to table some events and maybe try to make a profit, and I opened an online shop (which cost me like a dollar a month because of a promotion), and neither venture has been profitable.
I had events planned in early 2027, I'm kind of calling it quits for them, and I already closed my online shop.
Anyway, I'm just saying all this out loud in case anyone has advice for someone starting out. I'm considering Twitch, but can't really afford a Vtuber model at the moment.

If anyone has any tips for an artist who is still kinda new to the social media game, feel free to hit me up.
I am trying to balance between school, work, and this, and I'm also trying to balance art as a passion vs. art as a business.
For example, I've wanted to do commissions for a long time, but it's just not viable until I have another break from school or my situation improves so I'd have better motivation. I'm disabled.

I've kinda slowed down due to busy-ness and lack of motivation, and my backlog of art to post dried up a bit ago.
Usually I have a lot of art to post kind of piecemeal, but I'm trying to just focus on comics basically. I'll still post when I can, but not 3 times a week as I was doing for awhile.
aaa still can't sleep. also idk what the discourse is but if ur queer and u live in bumfuck idaho i don't think yr a transplant if u move to nyc or seattle that's just survival. transplant is when ur icky and u choose the new hipster bistro with knife burger instead of the mom n pop pizza for lunch
also this isn't a vaguepost and I'm not saying it's wrong to have people support you, and I'm not saying it's wrong to "make it". this is just about the feeling of not having made it and the weird things you have to do to make it. i guess making it in this context means making it out of poverty lol
i think the word I'm looking for is subtweet, not vaguepost? idk. these are pretty vague posts ehehehe I'm a mystery bunny mwehehehe hoohoohahaha COUGH cough eheck fuck ouw cof... uhh. but yeah this isn't a subtweet.. sub...bluesky... subskeet? what do people call it idfk I'm old ok I'll go now byee
making it is cultivating a specific audience receptive to your artistic cries for help
making it is not being too cringe or sad on main, so as to not scare away professionals (networking!)
making it isn't thinking that hard about things
making it isnt going on unfocused trail of thought rambles
making it is being yourself, if yourself is like, chill i guess
making it is being conventionally attractive
making its going to events and making enough to pay rent and nothing else
making it is being yourself unashamedly
idk what I'm even saying at this point i havnt slept
you get all that?
making it is having really well received art because you went viral a few times, and also having generally interesting opinions
making it is not posting art, it's posting the salad you had for lunch
making it is posting constantly on a schedule, often, but not too often!
making it is not looking too chalant or ungraceful when you are disappointed
making it is being in control of your uncontrollable situation
making it is having marginally enough social capital to leverage your followers into helping you not be in poverty
i suppose making it's relative.
making its having to compromise your anonymity & post a wistful pic of yourself & listing every identity group you belong to on GFM to get more sympathy.
making it is having good SEO on your plea for help.
making it is getting a job at Macys instead of McDonalds
