Last repost: I always have to remind myself that making art and making money are two separate skills. Your art quality is not tied to a price tag. But for some it's necessary as art takes time and time is money.

I think every relationship issue happens when people have different expectations of what kind of relationship they want. If we had 3 categories of friends: allies, pals, and companions, a lot of friction comes from someone wanting to be pals and the other person wanting to be allies, or any combo.

Allies are people who share your goals or people you can work with. Pals are people who you can have fun with. Companions are people who you can be emotional with. That's why I can feel a bit socially overwhelmed when people are trying to interact with me like companions when I don't feel the same.

Not to say that people can't be my companions but they have to meet me in the right space and I have to be in the right headspace for it. It can sometimes be half right setting and half how you handle a situation. I feel it can be the same with others.

I hope all my friends have a wonderful time at BFC. I will admit I'm a bit jealous for not being able to go this year but thinking back on it, if I did go, I wouldn't have gotten a cool jacket and shirt for an outfit I love. I wouldn't have done more traditional art. So I don't mind missing this.
