Abort Sequence - This one I like the idea of. Its basically a game to solve a series of puzzle on a timer. My only concern is whether or not the timer starts to annoy me. Otherwise, really well done in my mind and will likely pick it up. store.steampowered.com/app/5048190/...

For those of you in the US and are old enough to do it, Go Vote! Your Vote actually matters! Its the one way you can indicate to those in power how you are feeling! Early voting is now and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov 3, 2026. Most companies will give you some time to go handle voting, too.

Stash Mayhem - Dev popped into my chat and politely asked me to check it out. Note, AI Disclosure is involved, and in a way that isn't the best (Translations) and I did talk to the dev about it. Interesting idea, rogue-like but managing a shop/package delivery business.

Lighthouse of Madness - I really like the idea of this, but the controls and interface need work. Overall, I filled up my inventory and was baffled by it, It seemed to soft lock me. Needs a LOT of accessibility options, but I think the puzzles that I could did before I gave up were fine.

Tyto - I really liked this one. Owl-based Metroidvania with flight based powers. The art and animation is really nice. It does invite the comparison with Ori for multiple reasons, and I think it stands up while being different. I plan to stream this. store.steampowered.com/app/3579340/...

I had a great time with this and would recommend it to others. First chapter is free, and if you like it, give the rest a go. Individual chapter's puzzles vary in difficulty, but the story stays good. Really good experience overall, and I'm glad I played this.

Really great art and visuals, voice acting by major stars (Christopher Lloyd is the Narrator), good puzzles, really good story. The story is really well written, and touches on a leaving a legacy in a way I really liked. I teared up a bit during parts.

Sil and the Fading World - As a player of MMOs, I was curious with the idea, and honestly, it works. It doesn't WoW me, nor do I think its the final fantasy, but the combat was fun enought that I think I'll waste time with it depending on the price. store.steampowered.com/app/3054550/...

The story was interesting and I felt like it was trying to be in conversation with Portal 2. I can't say more without spoiling the story, but you are in a 'test lab' type space again. The puzzle mechanics around the various cubes worked well and I enjoyed myself despite the timing puzzles.

Whelp, its Steam Fest, and I wasn't paying attention to when it started exactly, so I played a whole bunch of demos today too. However, expect more demo notes coming out over the next days/weeks.

Control Resonant (This is a long one) store.steampowered.com/app/3669870/... To preface, I really liked Control. The vibes and the lore of this world, especially around the FBC and the Oldest House, are some of my favorite type of fiction and setting. I also really liked Control Resonant.

I think the bosses epitomized this, where most of the designs were absolutely spot on, but the patterns were easy to figure out and I rarely needed more than one try on a boss, and almost never 2 tries. I only struggled with the first boss.

I beat the story and most of the side quests in 37 hours. I have a lot of complaints here, but its still a big recommend from me, as I think that this would have been my GOTY if it weren't for Big Walk.

The powers were neat but nothing exceptional. They didn't really change my play style. I enjoyed the platforming, but it didn't do anything exceptional either. But again, the vibes, the level design, the art, the look was all exceptional.

It was easy to just find something that works and just do that over and over to defeat enemies, though I think it has the same problem as original Control of being the least interesting at the beginning.

The enemy variety was kinda weak, and I didn't really like the respawn mechanic (also because the combat wasn't the most engaging), though I suppose it was better than original Control where stuff just was always respawning.

At this moment, I can't decide which one I liked more. The story and storytelling were well done, the set pieces looked really cool and well done, and it was fun to play and I enjoyed my time with it a lot. That being said, the gameplay was the weakest part of the game.

Reminding everyone that fourthwall has partnered with openai, and does not seem to care about the ethical ramifications of this. And also didnt email everyone about it, it was only revealed in a blogpost a month ago.
