This labeler's axioms: 1. Subjective content moderation by platform is doomed to fail and should be confined to legality (e.g. remove CSAM) and authenticity - expand verification, remove bots and fakes. Focus on takedown, not subjective post-level decisions. Trying to do more is a costly distraction

This is incorrect. Please show one scrap of evidence of this 'personal grudge'. "One of my mutuals got labeled and added to the block list" is not 'evidence'. Labeling policy is unchanged, and available for review via pinned post.

FYI! Do not use these lists. @pef-moderation.org It added Fellas because of an allegedly "Anti-Zionist" stance. NAFO is not a political organisation. We are opposed to fascism in all its forms. This account may well be associated with NAFO, but it’s using this platform to settle a personal grudge

Block-listed the 'flydubai false flag' accounts - 300+ new out of 500+ total. Manual review, prompt= give oxygen to 'flydubai false flag' trope => unreliable narrator, irrespective of motivation Account themes rarely change on social media - why waste precious online time arguing with these?

PS one useful enhancement here was to Tag the auto-reports with the rule-id that triggered automation. This means that once a string match rule is added - "false flag", "Zionism is racism", - the Ozone UI allows filtering on just those auto-reports.

Feedback loop becomes: - add rules early and often, capturing spreaders and false positives - review manually, filtering on the trope's rule-id or via string search - label and block-list confirmed spreaders - discard false positives - refine initial guess at matching rule - repeat as needed.

1. Moderation tools (which are much improved now) for bulk labeling 2. SQL bulk 'insert if not found' to the table that drives block-list automation This was still time-consuming, but highly leveraged - I don't see any more auto-reports to review once they are blocklisted

This approach extends to any viral disinfo trope. The system cannot often reliably auto-label without unacceptable false positives, but 'best guess' auto-reports alongside manual search-plus-bulk-labeling can be quickly set up. No AI, ever.

This neo-Nazi account has to be the most unjustifiably high-profile account on this website. If you follow🤦or amplify it, it's really time to reconsider. Unsurprisingly this was observed during @pef-moderation.org trawling pass for 'flydubai false flag': a new trope for #AntiZionistBingo liars.

This is analogous to the old Twitter "state-affiliated media" tags. Visual clues in general on social media are over-trusted. [Hence, no AI moderation and limited auto-labeling of accounts.] This leads to and confirms bigotry. This toxicity easily bleeds into your network via hasty interaction.

There’s a paradox of entitlement where folks demand better service, response time, and customisation to their tastes from smaller rather than larger providers. That only really works when the price is higher and the volume is much lower for those providers. 1/6

If people use these labels and block list - great. ngl, it's fit for my purpose even if not: - Tracking tropes and trends - new: 'flydubai false flag', old: 'decades of genocide' - trusted clues about disruptors ('Gen*cide Joe', 'unipar*y') and abusers ('Ukron*zi', 'zion*zi', '#GazaHol*caust').

I have lost count of how many dumbass lists I am on. Block lists speak to a Pavlovian response learned on the proprietary pro-authoritarian platforms - X, Meta: Most people just view moderation as a black box for wish fulfilment, for good or ill.

This won't get resolved until/if Bluesky fulfils the promise of community as a platform feature. Bluesky's community-friendly decentralized architecture and approach to platform-level moderation is very poorly-understood by most Bluesky users. I've posted about this before, and it's no better now.

This thread is a polemic evangelizing Bluesky's architecture. Community moderation is *subjective*. Everybody has a corner of the 'town square' to post ad nauseam about say, 'NATO proxy wars' and #GazaGenocide. I don't need an accidental peek into it because my mutuals don't always discriminate ⬇️

Original plan was to build a team. Problem: it's too demanding. In a way, this made the job easier: No AI Automation is needed, must be almost perfect Auto-report uses simple, qualified string matching Limited auto-labeling, mostly confirmed links/slurs Manual review before most account labels

To keep up, accounts are manually labeled after a single egregious post or a pattern of antagonistic posts. Posts are auto-labeled when they contain links to sources viewed as in systematic violation: from Fox News via Greyzone News, back to Al Jazeera: super-spreaders of conspiracy and lies.

I continue to believe that block lists are best avoided, but it's there if you want it. Better to configure labels to get a cognitive hint that a post might not be representative. Example: - follow a 'woke bloke' - unwittingly buy into toxic post-Soviet 'antizionism'.

This hobby project - I am a one-man band and not funded by Mossad, regretfully - has affirmed my belief that platform-level moderation beyond: - the most egregious content and hate speech - account authenticity - legality of content is a quixotic project.

Thanks to the label/ignore block list, labeling backlog and realtime is now sustainable with graph tracking work in parallel. Recent firefighting stabilized the firehose client to run reliably for days on end. Essential work before the US mid-terms, to handle viral disinfo like 'flydubai false flag'

If you have a Gmail account, you need to read this. Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how. Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:

receipts are always on hand in case of gaslighting by labeled accounts ⬇

So apparently @pef-moderation.org think any post with "pig" in it is now anti-Semitic Any post with #FuckIsrael is anti-Semitic Any post containing zio-nazi is antisemitic. Because that sounds normal and not at all like white supremacy hiding behind the human shield of the Jewish community at all

Some 'veil' 😂 From the pinned thread ⬇️ To recap, the queries for which you were labeled and added to block-list are: bsky.app/profile/.bsk... bsky.app/profile/.bsk... bsky.app/profile/.bsk... You are free to post antisemitic hate. Users who subscribe are not obliged to have to see it.

The abusive, unregulated and subjective @pef-moderation.org seems to be merely a veil for a pro-Zionist agenda Their users abuse it to defame legitimate @bsky.app users . I would urge @support.bsky.team to review their operation and consider permanent removal to protect the Bsky community.

Answering this one time so I can copy for other complaints: - fanboying for disruptors Thomas Massie (proximate cause) and Hasan Piker - 'Gaza genocide' stated as fact - 'Epstein class' trope - #TrackAipac bandwagoneering

BTW, there’s no transparency re who you are, which country you are based in, under what authority you act/function, your funders etc…. internet searches for “Public Education Forum Moderation Organisation" or “Ozone records” bring up nothing. So who are you? Why the lack of transparency?

Notes from the coalface: Gaza fundraiser spam account in action. Hundreds of posts over a short time period, minimally spaced out to avoid bsky rate limits. These were auto-reported, resulting in an obvious outlying account in the Ozone moderation DB.

All 10 observed in this wave are added to the service's Soft_Deleted block-list - if account owners regain control after a possible hack, they can appeal. Now I have rate limiting logic working (long story), it will be possible to implement detection for this type of thing as a new report type.

Pro-Iranian, anti-U.S. narratives have been shared by Iranian state media and pro-regime accounts since the outbreak of the war. Graphika spoke with @forbes.com about the spread of one video that depicts a Lego version of President Trump with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Like the 'nsfw' list, it will stop growing at 5000 and be archived with a timestamp. That won't be for a while due to large manual review backlog. This process avoids any single list becoming unwieldy. Interested users should subscribe to both the living 'Soft_Deleted' list and all its archives.

Reporting Guidance: We now have 18 months of well-directed auto-reporting to work with, but manual reports need more context to avoid being unusable. Report a bad post, and if the account is toxic as well, say so Fun fact: when this project started, firehose event index was ~2bn. Now it is over 29bn

Update. Ramping up active review of reports ahead of the US mid-terms, when I expect disinfo from all sides to increase - MAGA/russia both desperate. Prioritize manual reports first - rerunning tool to Tag all of those. Then, steady state review of worst offenders all-time/recent.

Noise reduction: Enabled 'soft delete' for worst offenders. Could make the 'soft delete' list into a block list if people want it. Ignore accounts deemed harmless or reliable. Cleared out dead accounts (custom tool).
