Loop One Women's Final last shoot: Julia Simon fast but 2 misses. Can Vittozzi take advantage...yes! She misses her last but she's going to the final lap with a lead. Vittozzi leaves the penalty loop with 10 seconds in hand over Simon #biathlon

The win is going to come down to a final shoot between Lisa Vittozzi and Julia Simon unless they both really mess it up Behind them, though, still a LOT of ways the podium and top 6 could round out #biathlon

And so it goes on lap 4 with Vittozzi marking right behind Simon Kirkeeide and Mengin at +20 Minkkinen and Johansen +24 Kapustova +31 Baserga + Botet + Puff + Tannheimer +35 #biathlon

Loop One Women's Final Shoot 3 Simon has her 1st miss of the day opening the door But Vittozzi can't take advantage. She also has a miss Suvi, Johansen, Mengin also all have misses and are about +20 Kirkeeide now 14/15 and +23 Kapustova +29 having a great race #biathon

For comparison she's only 7 seconds ahead of Voigt and Puff who each have 2 misses #biathlon

Focused right now mostly on the front of the field but curious about Maren Kirkeeide. She has a miss and is already 32 seconds back of Simon and 29 seconds back of Vittozzi who also has a miss #biathlon

Lisa Vittozzi wants this win. Nobody else is making up much ground on Simon but Vittozzi has cut the deficit from 9 seconds down to 3 seconds at the mid point of lap 3. #biathlon

Julia Simon was so quick on that shoot compared to the rest of the field. Just crazy to see her be on equal shooting with Suvi Minkkinen and Amy Baserga and already be up by 17 and 20 seconds. That's just awesome racing! #biathlon

Early in the race but a fun feeling out by Vittozzi and Simon. Vittozzi is testing Simon's legs a little bit. Simon has a pain face on but matching Vittozzi step for step. Fun to watch these two veterans compete! #biathlon

🇫🇷 If there is such thing as a quiet podium this was it for Eric Perrot. Just quietly went about his business. Nothing flashy and yet there is he is on the podium. Definitely didn't look to be in peak form which isn't a surprise or worrisome one bit. And still in 3rd! #biathlon

🇳🇴 Johan-Olav Botn clearly not going anywere. Last season was a breakthrough with his shooting and he is intent on backing that up again this year. 18/20 today with clean standing shooting. Once again we can expect to see plenty of Botn in the mix this year! #biathlon

🇸🇪 Martin Ponsiuloma with a really terrific race. 18/20 on the range is what I'm most excited about. Of course we know he's always capable of doing it but really hoping that this is a sign of things to come this season. Great skiing as always with top course time! #biathlon

🇩🇪 While Nawrath wasn't able to close down the gap today for the podium the Germans do put up 3 in the top 6 with Strelow and Horn finishing 5th and 6th #biathlon

Just behind Nawrath is moving up on Perrot. It's going to be a sprint for 3rd position. Nawrath is digging hard...but Perrot just holds him off for the podium! #biathlon

🇸🇪 Martin Ponsiluoma makes a move around Botn to take the lead. Botn not giving up ground through. They are going to battle it out in a sprint at the finish! Ponsi with the edge but Botn is making a late surge. Here he comes! But Ponsi holds him off in a photo finish!! #biathlon

Martin Ponsiluoma is almost immediately up on Botn's tails Perrot with no difficulty at all overtaking Strelow to get in 3rd. We have 3 Germans running 4-6: - Strelow and Nawrath right behind Perrot - Horn at +15 and looking to hold off Christiansen who is 5 sec back #biathlon
