It really bugs us that we haven't been able to pay our contributors. We're gonna see what we can do about that for our Summer '27 issue onwards, even if it's only pocket money. After all, we're nothing without you, #writersky.

It feels like ages we've been preparing Journeys for, doesn't it? But it's only because this is our first biannual, instead of quarterly issue. Anyway... cover reveal pretty soon we think. ✈️🗺️ #writersky

There's nothing we love more than reading a submission and feeling in our gut like we've potentially found this issue's opening number. 😍 #litmag #fiction #writersky

We're vaguely thinking about compiling some kind of resource of writers on this subject to help with research. Not sure what form it will take, or if it will even come to fruition yet, but it's something we're thinking about, so we're curious to hear your thoughts. 🧐

Thanks for your patience while we read through all your submissions to Journeys. We've deliberately given ourselves more time to read everything this time so we can do a thorough job reviewing and responding to everyone. We think that's important. 🗺️✈️

We're very excited to announce the winner of our 1,000-Word Short Story Competition is... Gayle Beveridge with her beautiful short story, 'Beneath the Willow Tree'! 🏆 We loved this story for its beautiful prose, its strong protagonist and its touching plot. 😍

We'll be publishing this story + an author interview in our upcoming Winter 2026 issue, Journeys, so keep an eye out for this issue dropping sometime in December this year! 🗺️✈️
