Incredible first day for new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia

I'm going to be controversial on main for a moment. "Edge of Tomorrow" is by far the best of the suggested titles for that movie.

I don't care how good your YouTube video is, if you segue to talking about the sponsor mid-topic without a notification, I will stop watching.

You know when someone in cinema grins and the light reflects off their tooth with a "ting"? The weird thing *isn't* that reflected light should be completely silent. The weird thing is that we have accepted it so much that if film-makers ever omitted it, it would make the whole scene seem wrong.

Watching Maul:Shadow Lord. For a character with three lines of dialogue in Phantom Menace, this guy sure loves a good monologue.

Asking companies to slow down in their race to invent artificial superintelligence is like asking them to slow down in their race to invent time machines. Predicting the most likely next word in a sentence is a longass way away from birthing Brainiac.

I finally have my full driver's license. I can now legally: 1. Drive unaccompanied 2. Drive on motorways 3. Drive unaccompanied on motorways 4. Meet people at parties and other events and ask which way they came

If Doctor Strange practiced medicine the same way he practiced magic in No Way Home: Peter: I have a stomach ache. Strange: Lie on the table. Strange (as he's cutting): I'm going to remove your liver.

"I wish I had enough poison for the whole pack of you. I would gladly give my life to watch you all swallow it. I will not give my life for Joffrey's murder. And I know I'll get no justice here, so I will let the gods decide my fate. I demand a trial by Clacton by-election!"

“We put all our politicians in prison as soon as they’re elected. Don’t you?” “Why?” “It saves time.” Terry Pratchett - The Last Continent

24 hours later and I'm still annoyed. *We can't just call him 'Ram Man' with no explanation. That would sound silly." "Dude, do you expect people tuning into a He-Man movie in the year 2026 to be offended by sillyness?" And where the hell was Orko?!

Just watched the new he-man movie. What the actual fuck. I've never seen an adaptation so embarrassed by its own source material before. They couldn't introduce a single character or element of the story without couching it with a bad joke or a stage wink.

If you can't make a movie with a character called "Fisto" without making the same bad joke nine times, you should not be the person in charge of making that movie. Step aside.

And at one point, Skeletor refers to He-man's outfit as a "low-in cloth". How did that make it all the way to Prime Video without being spotted? I refuse to believe Jared Leto is unfamiliar with the word "loin".

I just spent 20 minutes talking to Mitch McConnell and he says he's fine and is watching the news and keeping up with events. I'd have asked more questions but the spooky lady in the tent wanted three more pieces of silver.

Spoke to Mitch McConnell for twenty minutes today. He bobbed up and down and said "gottle of geer, gottle of geer", in a voice strangely similar to Stephen Miller, who was sitting beside him.

For your great service, Frodo, I name thee Elf-friend. And for your unwavering dedication to Frodo, Samwise Gamgee, I name thee Elf-friend-of-a-friend. Lastly, Merry and Pippin, you shall forever be called Elf-colleagues-from-work.

If the day one day comes when thou needs a great service, or a lift to the airport, know that we will pretend to consider it.

The House of Elrond has many rooms. Know that you are welcome to stay in one of them, for one night, if you are traveling on the next day and give us plenty of notice and don't expect dinner or anything.

Know that we may one day ask your help moving apartment, but you shall only be invited to our weddings after the meals have been served.

Do you celebrate your anniversary on the date you proposed, or the day you got married? Do you celebrate your divorce on the date you filed the papers, or the date it became final? Is your birthday the day you were born or the day your parents started trying to conceive?

Anyway, I'm just saying, if people want to celebrate America's 250th birthday without Him ruining everything, they can wait until October 19, 2031. Or September 3, 2033. Both absolutely acceptable dates.

Every summer, people from either side of the Atlantic argue about heat and humidity and building construction and air conditioning and oh my god can we skip it for this year please.

It's a bit of a relief that the He-Man movie is failing. If it became a franchise, we'd have to have about the Masters of the Universe Cinematic Universe.

"Guys, we *really* need to come up with some sort of plan to defend Minos Korva." - Captain Picard to the Admiralty, upon returning home

The 1926 Irish census results were out today. The people living in my house back then are the same ones who were living there in 1911. I got to thinking about all the stuff they saw when they lived here.

Did they head out to Queenstown to see the Titanic? World War I. 1916. The Flu pandemic. The War of Independence and then the Civil War. Partition and the Free State. All while in the same room I'm sitting in.
