This vacation has had a lot more sleeping and a lot more shadow work than I expected. And now I realize I need about 3 more weeks of both.

First full day of vacation is rain, so I am relaxing on a sofa with a book. I don’t let myself rest very well. This is nice. Weird, and I keep thinking I should Do Something, but nice.

Went to a pagan funeral today. It was less than I hoped for and more than I expected. Are we still evolving our theology and ritual around death and dying? I think we are - but with boomers and GenX coming up, I suspect we are going to evolve it quickly. #witchsky #pagansky

I wish I slept better last night, because I have no fucks left to give today. Since my boss still expects me to be diplomatic in the face of stupidity, I think I better take the afternoon off.

Brought donuts to work for my boss’ 25th anniversary at the firm. Totally worth it to see how he lit up. Each person grabbing a donut thanks him for his work here. He’s glowing. The impact on him is bigger than I thought it would be. It makes me so happy.

Life isn’t bad, but it would be a lot cozier if I was curled up with a purring cat instead of headed to a Finance meeting.

The neighbors are getting a new roof and one of the guys offered to clean out my gutters for $50. Score! Even if it’s a ploy to see if I need a new roof (I don’t), it’s worth it.

After a week in the hospital, dad moved into assisted living today. Lots of discussion about aging, dying and death to get here. It’s been hard but I have promised to walk with him every step of the way. Hecate help me.
