Trump is shit, the news is shit, and my sanity is questionable. So I help evacuate #animals from war zones. Cats scream, dogs hop into the truck voluntarily, chickens file complaints, and cows go MOOOO. Still more therapeutic than watching Washington. Join me ⤵️

theurf.donorsupport.coEvacuating animals from Ukraine’s war zoneI’m raising $10,000 for fuel for the incredible volunteers of 12 Guards (12 Вартових), who are making multiple evacuation trips every day from the Donetsk region. Rescue missions run on courage and d...

🇺🇸 SpaceX may have helped Russia’s Kosmos-2612 get within 500m of ICEYE-X36, a satellite supporting Ukraine, on Oct 18. SpaceX issued a false collision alert that stopped ICEYE from maneuvering. Russia had similarly shadowed a US spy satellite in 2022, but at a much greater distance – around 70 km.

🇺🇸 Russia's Kosmos-2612 made maneuvers near ICEYE-X36 consistent with an orbital weapons operation. US arms control adviser Brian Hardesty made the statement at the UN First Committee in New York on Oct 21. To accuse Russia of something at such a desperate time for Trump! Scandalous.

🇺🇸 Trump Jr. went hunting in Mongolia with Putin-linked Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev, the FT reports. They avoided photos together. The US Embassy spent $18,715 on hotels for a Secret Service visit during the same period – possibly to protect Trump Jr. on his private trip.

🇺🇸 Trump Jr.’s lavish Bahamas wedding was secretly bankrolled by Putin-linked Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev, ProPublica reports. His spokesman didn’t deny the payments, calling Kremlev a “personal friend of Don” but saying they have no business relationship.

Satellite images show damage to workshops No. 24 and 25 and a nearby hangar at the 75th Arsenal in Serpukhov after the Oct 22 strike. The Rostec facility repairs Buk, S-300V and Tunguska air defense systems.

Alina Pereverzieva 🇺🇦@perevaa.bsky.social

Ukrainian drones struck Russia’s 75th GRAU Arsenal, 380 km from the border. The facility, operated by Russia’s Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU), stores ammunition and repairs Buk and S-300V air defense systems, along with various radars.

🇺🇸 Trump's Oct 9 diesel deal is already helping Russian refineries boost output, Reuters reports. Production is rising from 160,000 to 180,000 tonnes/day after export quotas and US sanctions relief.

🇷🇸 Serbia's election-winning Student List vows to halt arms exports reaching Ukraine via Western intermediaries, Reuters reports. It also rejects EU sanctions on Russia. Jovo Bakić calls Moscow a "historic partner and protector."

🇷🇸 Serbian students ousted Vučić – a real achievement. But alongside their trips to Brussels, their May 17 Kosovo Memorandum calls Kosovo an inseparable part of Serbia and its defense a duty to ancestors. This will slow Serbia’s EU accession, while Russia keeps exploiting Kosovo to sow division.

Better images of the Energiya plant are out. At least 7 hits on different buildings. Storm Shadow rocks!

Alina Pereverzieva 🇺🇦@perevaa.bsky.social

Cruise missiles have just struck the Energia plant in Yelets, Lipetsk region. It produces batteries and power systems for missile systems, aircraft, and other military equipment. 300 km from Ukraine’s border.

Olena Sharhovska, 43, a Ukrainian journalist, veteran and combat medic known as “Jane,” died on Oct 24. Since 2015, she had saved wounded soldiers, served with the Hospitallers and International Legion, and fought for women's rights in the military.

Ukrainian rescuer Artem Khanat, 38, died on Oct 25, five days after being wounded in a Russian strike. He served for six years and received a presidential award for bravery in 2022. He leaves behind his wife, a one-year-old daughter and two young sons.

Two targets hit in Russia on Oct 26; both in Voronezh, 195 km from the border: 1. Voronezhsintezkauchuk petrochemical plant. 2. VASO aircraft manufacturing plant. The last attack on a Russian refinery was on Oct 15, eleven days ago.

Ukraine targeted Russian kauchuk plants in Tolyatti, Omsk and Voronezh on Oct 24–26 for three reasons: 1. Rocket fuel – specialty polymers bind solid propellants. 2. Gasoline – MTBE boosts octane. 3. Military gear – rubber is used in tires, seals and aircraft parts.

Photos of the week. All capture the Russian strike on Vinnytsia on Oct 25, when a drone slammed into an apartment building. 1. A couple sharing a kiss, blissfully untouched by Russia's legendary humanitarianism.

And even if that share weren’t small, nobody in Ukraine gives a damn whether Russian soldiers are conscripts, mobilized troops, or contract soldiers. They’re all invaders, and can go straight to hell.

🫠 The International Weightlifting Federation has awarded Russia the 2030 World Championships. It reminds me of how Moscow hosted the 1980 Olympics while the Soviet Union was invading Afghanistan.

Three missile strikes in Russia in three days: Oct 23 – Baltimore airbase, Voronezh. Oct 23 – Proton optoelectronics plant, Oryol. Oct 25 – Energia electrical engineering plant, Yelets.

Fire captain Yurii Ilchenko died on Oct 25 after five days in hospital following a Russian attack. He was five days away from turning 44. A rescuer with over 21 years of service, he leaves behind his wife and two children.

Two targets hit in Russia on Oct 25: 1. AVISMA in Berezniki – 1,630 km from Ukraine’s border. The plant makes titanium sponge, magnesium and alloys for aircraft and missiles. 2. Belgorod’s MegaGRINN mall – 40 km.

F-35s (reportedly) don't have a remote kill switch like Starlink does. Yet the U.S. can cut off software updates and mission data (MDF) and halt the supply of spare parts and technical support.

Maria Drutska@mariadrutska.bsky.social

Fallout from the Starlink restrictions could hit US weapons exports such as the F-35. There were already concerns that the F-35 has a built-in software kill switch. And the US actions on Starlink just turned that risk from theoretical to something proven and real. Very costly choice by the US.

Musk is lying about Ukraine using civilian Starlink on combat drones. Since February, any Starlink terminal operating in motion has needed military Starshield authorization. No Starshield – no connection. Using civilian Starlink on drones was technically impossible. Period.

The drones flew 2,500 km to Omsk and did NOT hit Russia’s largest oil refinery, which has a processing capacity of 22M tonnes of oil per year. Now that hurts. The last attack on a Russian oil refinery was on Oct 15 – nine days ago.

Alina Pereverzieva 🇺🇦@perevaa.bsky.social

The attacks continued throughout the day. Two more targets were hit in Omsk, 2,500 km from Ukraine's border: 3. OZON. 4. Omsky Kauchuk petrochemical plant.

Again, give it at least a week to make sure the connection is stable. There’s way too much hype around it.

The Kyiv Independent@kyivindependent.com

⚡️Starshield operations restored to speeds of more than 400 km/h, Ukraine's Defense Ministry says. "We record a speed of more than 400 kilometers per hour, the connection is stable," the ministry said.

NASA FIRMS confirms a strike on the Taman substation. It plays a key role in transmitting electricity from southern Russia to occupied Crimea. As of 5 am this morning, the entire peninsula was experiencing a blackout.

Alina Pereverzieva 🇺🇦@perevaa.bsky.social

Targets hit in Russia on Oct 24: 1. 500 kV Taman electrical substation, Krasnodar Krai, 280 km from the front line. 2. Tolyattikauchuk chemical plant, Samara region, 890 km from Ukraine's border.

Those oh-so-“humane” Russians keep killing every living thing in Kherson and the surrounding region. Of course, Witkoff won't be shown this footage. The dog was killed. No information on the civilian.
