I’ve been thinking about this for years now, but always thought that it wouldn’t achieve anything because of our ridiculous FPTP electoral system. Like a lot of others (now over 110,000 members!) I’ve arrived at the decision that this is the best hope we have for a fairer and more radical future

Didn’t some Nazis flee to Brazil after WW2? Looking forward to Trump welcoming his defeated allies to the USA www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cq...

Hello, we are in India for a couple of weeks so things will be a bit different. First day today and I’ve discovered that we have curry for all meals including breakfast (excellent)

Went to see Reading vs Bradford City this afternoon and what was on paper a football feast. Unfortunately Bradford City seem determined to achieve success using the old Neil Warnock playbook, continued fouling, time wasting and general anti-football shithousery

A policy designed to appeal to the uninformed and ignorant rather than a serious proposal. “Tories would prevent long-term jobless spending benefits on alcohol and cigarettes” www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Ed Sheeran seems to be being lauded for making a vacuous “both sides” fence sitting statement www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

There are a lot of issues affecting the UK music industry that are way more important than this and should be getting attention. Fixing the touring issues caused by Brexit would be a great start.

The Goth community must be livid about these arseholes

Does Zia Yusuf think he can’t be a racist because he isn’t white?

I finally got to see Geese live at Troxy in London tonight. Believe the hype

Grass is amazing. After weeks of drought our local park was like a desert (pic 1). After a couple of wet days the grass is recovering (pic 2).

Well I know a few creatives who will not be upgrading their GoPro after this

Rain at last! The pigeons are loving it

The government clearly understood the toxic influence that social media has yet continues to urge them to self regulate. That time has long passed, and we need to treat them as a publisher of the content and punish them appropriately for transgressions news.sky.com/story/a66-cr...

Might have been useful to have received the news about the emergency alert before the emergency alert. I now need to change my underwear :)

What a great set of headlines. Farage looks a complete idiot and a coward

Why do the media reporting on the Israelis thugs stealing land and property from Palestinians refer to them as “settlers”?

@mrjamesob.bsky.social One concrete thing that Andy Burnham could do is to make our infrastructure more resilient to climate change. Needed for long term and would create much needed jobs/growth

I only know one person who has told me personally he doesn’t believe in climate change. You won’t be surprised to hear he voted for Brexit, attends events organised by “Tommy Robinson” and has been banned from Facebook for sharing racist material

There’s a load of great reasons to love the Cerys Matthews show on BBC 6 Music on Sundays, not least of which is her promotion of the BlueSky platform for interaction. The incredible eclectic music and chat is great too @cerysmatthews.bsky.social

Who could have guessed that Netanyahu would reject Trump's 15-point plan for Gaza?

The government either don’t understand or don’t care about the anger in my area about the early release of two of the people involved in the killing of PC Harper. They are creating a huge problem for themselves in Reading and West Berkshire

@70ot5.bsky.social Hi Paul. Nice to see you on here. We have a couple of things in common: Green Party member and ex-RAF (MTD). Darlington fan from my youth but was also at St James’s now and again. Duolingo is my nemesis

When Infantino and his friends realise how much sponsorship and TV money they will lose from a UEFA boycott they will cave in on this.

Truck Festival 2026 day 2 was a mixed bag. Primal Scream limped through a greatest hits set, Eighty Eight Miles were a delight but the highlight for me was a resurgent English Teacher playing a set of favourites mixed with some unreleased new stuff which sounded great

In a sensible world with an informed and intelligent electorate this would be the end of Reform and Farage.

This is great news for small music venues which have been closing at an alarming rate. I’m sure the Music Venue Trust will be delighted stocks.apple.com/AfSJP0HoWQzC...

I’m on a flight to Heathrow and the entire Guernsey Commonwealth Games team are on board

Simeone is absolutely world class at shithousery

Respect to the guy wearing a t-shirt with “SOCIALISM” in huge letters in the VIP section of the Electric Heart Festival today. I guess some people are more equal than others

Dan Roan on BBC News talking about the challenge of heat and humidity in Miami for the England team tomorrow against Norway, which is of course famous for its tropical climate
