What is the good in AI if journos are just going to use it like this. A story which didn't really need a picture gets the most dreadful "animation" of a plane that hasn't flown for 40 years. Seriously, click on the story to get the full effect. www.theguardian.com/world/ng-int...

theguardian.comHiding in plane sight: the invisible turbulence that can strike out of a clear blue skyAs the planet warms, airlines are grappling with what this means for air travel – and for the passengers who simply refuse to keep their seatbelts fastened

Why do we need war memorials everywhere? OK, I get it with the little country towns having their "honour roll" of people killed in someones stupid war but Coral Bay wasn't even a settlement until the 1970s.

Nearly the best football joke ever.

Every time Eric Cantona appears on my TL, my thoughts go back to when he signed for Leeds United. In an interview, he was asked who he admired and he said the French poet Rimbaud. A Leeds fan immediately made 1000 T shirts with a picture of Sylvester Stallone on the front. #lufc

My wikipedia edit Cattlemen and timbergetters came to the area from the 1860s, but land was not made available for (agricultural selection) theft until the 1880s. The first (selector) thief was James Steele in 1887.

OK @jojofromjerz.bsky.social This is what one of Australias best political cartoonists has come up with. Because everything Trump does affects us more than what our own government does we follow your politics more than you follow ours.

would I be right in saying some of the best political cartoons abou the US do not come from America? David Rowe applies the acid yet again..

So I stumbled across a clip from Karl Stepanovic 18/6/26 where he claims BRS was set up and it is a witch hunt. If you feel this way please watch tonights episode of Compass on the ABC. WW2 war crimes "sanitised" even tho the prosecutions happened. Truth matters, Ben will get his day in court.

So these clowns are cool about war crimes. Means that if we send our soldiers to some foreign conflict, if captured they can be tortured or summarily executed. I am not judging BRS, that is for the courts. If you want to support BRS as a person, do so, personally, offer him support.

No mention of WA in this story. Recently had a huge tightening of gun laws and a buyback. Closed down the rort of farmers selling letters of permission to people they have never met. One guy had sold over 1000 letters. Max number of guns 5, farmers can have 10. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

theguardian.comDemand for guns has surged in the wake of the Bondi shooting – what will it take to make Australia safer? | Tom McIlroyPremiers are rejecting Anthony Albanese’s buyback scheme amid a surge in the number of applications for gun licences

Better data matching. They recently found a legal gun owner who lived with his father who had Nazi links. Paid them a visit and found Nazi flags everywhere so they took all the guns. Also targetting (haha) "sovereign citizens" for gun removal.

So I have a farcebook account that my wife and kids set up to get me on it, linked to one of her email addresses. It is being flooded with pro BRS propaganda. Danny Green, numerous politicians, including our local state MLA who lives 300 metres away and i thought was a decent guy. Gina money?

For anyone interested BRS is an Aus SAS soldier being tried for war crimes. My farcebook account is in the name of our dog and I only started to look at it for the marketplace because our local selling platform (Gumtree) is flooded with ads from car yards. Unusable.

I had a mapping joke but with no projection it is a bit lost.

I have a lexicography joke, which comes from the Latin ‘jocus,’ which perhaps shares an older ancestor with the Old High German ‘gehan,’ meaning “to say,” which in turn comes from the Sanskrit ‘yācati,’ “he asks.”
