Though tbf few people know where Azerbaijan is let alone that they committed a genocide in Armenia. Personally, I would be comfortable with Eurovision only including countries in the continent of Europe not including Russia and Belarus, because of the war, and Turkey, because it is mostly in Asia

Very telling how so many countries have a real issue with Israel being Eurovision, to the extent that the competition may just die rather than deal with the issue, but have literally nothing to say about Azerbaijan committing a genocide and taking part. Some things are only bad when Israel does them

We have had #forest_fires for a week here in the Alps in Freissinières. What started with a single lightning strike and one tree burning is now dozens of fires and 30km of smoke affecting the Durance valley from l'Argentiere to Briancon.

I would be very grateful for your crediting this account, if you share this video elsewhere, as it involved having to watch quite a lot of this plank feeling sorry for himself which is quite hard work.

BBC reporting huge shortages in people with skills to do ultrasounds. The government says it can fix it but it will take a while. Imagine having to fix every specific skill shortage for the rest of time when you could simply join the European single market...

There are many options on gentrification. Boroughs like Southwark accelerated it by destroying social housing estates and letting the market decide rents and prices. There are ways of creating viable and balanced social mix

Every complaint about gentrification needs to answer what the alternative is. You either build more space for newcomers or, I suppose, ban new people from moving into a neighborhood.

Ruben Amorim has developed a new business plan to milk Manchester United. First sign a contract for £7.5million a year. Then get sacked in the first 6 months. Finally, collect your payout and return to Portugal. Everyone knows United will sack you in the end so it's logical to take the initiative

"In 2016-19, the Brexiteers obtained Brexit, and then didn’t know what to do. In 2024, the Labour Party obtained power, and then didn’t know what to do. In both cases they were the proverbial dogs that caught the car." @David Allen Green is forgetting the third best example Gordon Brown as PM
