Today marks the anniversary of Hamas’ brutal attack on Israel that tragically murdered 1,200 people, took over 100 innocent civilians hostage, and ignited a deadly conflict that has brought devastation to the region. Read my full statement here:

Our president saying a foreign adversary should "take out" American cities is dangerous & a complete betrayal of the most crucial responsibility of the commander in chief: to protect the American people. Donald Trump is the most incompetent, corrupt, & unfit leader our country has ever seen.

abcnews.comTrump suggests Iran could 'take out' Los Angeles and San Diego if it develops nuclear weaponsPresident Donald Trump suggested Monday during a political rally in Nebraska that Iran could “take out” Los Angeles and San Diego, comments that drew condemnation.

Romance scams cost Americans over $1 BILLION every single year. That's why I passed the Romance Scam Prevention Act to hold bad actors accountable & protect Coloradans. I'm proud this is my 6th bill passed into law this Congress — proving you can stand strong against this admin & get work done.

Every student in Colorado & across the country deserves to feel safe, supported & protected at school, no matter what. The Dept of Eds decision to roll back Title IX protections for LGBTQ students is a devastating step backward. I'll keep fighting to ensure EVERY student is protected under the law.

washingtonpost.comEducation Department officially scraps Biden-era Title IX rulesThe new regulations mark a return to rules from the first Trump administration.

It's a scary world when the President of the United States is ousting media outlets from the White House and pushing his own state-run media. We need our independent media to help us hold this rogue admin accountable. I stand with CNN, MS NOW, & POLITICO in fighting this dangerous abuse of power.

Thankful for the opportunity to sit down with @pettersen.house.gov and Center Forward this week to talk about our work in crafting the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and the need for more bipartisan solutions in Congress. Together, we’ll keep working to lower housing costs for American families.

Head Start ensures our most vulnerable kids have access to the care, nutrition, & health services they need in those early years. Now Trump is trying to gut their services. I will fight every effort by Trump to dismantle this program & work to protect families and kids across the country.

The Republican health care crisis is hitting families across the country with the largest increase in costs in decades, and it's about to get so much worse. We will never forget that they ripped health care away from millions to give tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans.

washingtonpost.comHealth insurance costs projected to spike next year by most in two decadesEmployers predict an average 8.2% increase in the cost of their insurance plans. Workers will shoulder some of the cost.

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline saves lives, but it can only help people who know it exists. That's why I'm introducing the Public Transit Mental Health Awareness Act to display 988 information on public transit, help meet people where they are, & connect more Americans with lifesaving support.

The cost of everything is going up, including school supplies. I know every family is feeling the crunch. Yet, Trump has consistently said he doesn't care. That's why I'm leading this effort, I will not let him ignore families who are struggling.

More chaos. More dysfunction. And more economic instability. While Trump has paused his 50% Canadian tariff for now, this marks 2 years of turmoil that will have long-lasting impacts on our economy and the costs of goods for Americans.

denver7.comTrump halts new tariffs on Canadian goods hours before deadlineTrump delayed planned 50% tariffs on Canadian imports after a last-minute agreement gave the U.S. and Canada three more days to negotiate.

This is what happens when Trump lets politics decide who gets support and who doesn't. Real communities suffer because our CO chose to protect its citizens rather than bow to political loyalty. Federal funding should serve the public, not be weaponized to punish communities.

denver7.comState lawsuit alleges White House orchestrated campaign against ColoradoColorado says a newly disclosed White House email provides evidence that federal agencies were directed to take action against the state.

Wildfires aren’t a red or blue issue—they're an urgent crisis facing Colorado & the West. That's why I introduced a bipartisan package of wildfire legislation designed to respond to the reality our state faces. Protecting our homes & public lands will take a sustained, all-hands-on-deck effort.

kunc.orgColorado Rep. Brittany Pettersen introduces package of wildfire billsThe introduction of these six bills comes as Colorado and other states continue to battle wildfires.

With more than 100,000 acres burned across Colorado this summer, we can't just react after the smoke clears—we have to protect our communities now. I've introduced six bills to guarantee emergency relief, fight pine beetle outbreaks in our forests, & safeguard healthcare for our hero firefighters.

Meet Marc from Wheat Ridge. Since Trump took office, Marc has seen his Medicare and Medicaid benefits continuously slashed. These aren't abstract budget lines—they are real Coloradans losing the healthcare they rely on to stay healthy. Marc deserves better.

61 years ago, Medicare and Medicaid became law— a promise that no American should go without care because they can't afford it. But Republicans broke that promise with $625 billion cut from Medicaid. We must reverse these devastating cuts and get back to supporting the American people.

Here in Colorado, we're facing a shortage of over 100,000 homes. But Colorado isn't just seeing the problems—we're leading the way on solutions. Tackling Colorado's housing crisis requires bold, bipartisan solutions that cut red tape and expand inventory where families need it most.

denverpost.comWhy Colorado is poised to lead the federal real estate pivotColorado’s struggles to improve housing affordability inform many of the federal housing reforms, which should leave the state in a better spot to “connect the dots” and implement the changes coming.

The hero firefighters battling the Aspen Acres Fire are losing their own homes while they fight to save our communities. To every firefighter, every first responder, every evacuee, and every family starting over: We see you, and we will not let you rebuild alone.

The June jobs report is in, and it's a warning sign. Just 57,000 jobs added — that means fewer opportunities for all of us. I know how hard Coloradans work to stay afloat, and how they are now being forced to do more with less. That's not a success story; that's Trump's economy.

nbcnews.comU.S. adds just 57,000 jobs in June, a worrying sign as wage growth remains slowIt was the slowest month of hiring since February, when the labor market contracted. The unemployment rate slipped to 4.2%.

BIG WIN. SCOTUS just struck down Trump's move to end birthright citizenship. Every lower court that looked at this said the same thing — if you're born in the US, you are a citizen at birth. Trump thought he could rewrite the Constitution & diminish the 14th amendment, with a signature. WRONG.

They want another $80,000,000,000 for an endless war in Iran, but they couldn't find the money to keep your health insurance. Apparently, there's always money for bombs & tax breaks for billionaires. Just not for your prescription or your family's health care.

Pete Hegseth is wildly incompetent & dangerous. He's violating our constitution by dragging us into an unauthorized war & breaking international law by targeting civilians. As a mom, I'm terrified by his actions & the long-term consequences we will face as a country. He must resign or be removed.

Pete Hegseth’s actions are reckless, violate our Constitution & international law, & have created a global crisis. The American people have absolutely no confidence in Hegseth to do this job. It’s time for him to resign – or we will remove him from office.

I’ve introduced Articles of Impeachment against Pete Hegseth for violating his oath, endangering U.S. servicemembers, and committing war crimes, including attacks on civilians and a girls’ school in Minab, Iran. Only Congress can declare war; his actions demand immediate removal.

Today is Tax Day—let's remember that while most families are paying more, the top 1% just got massive tax breaks. I promise to keep fighting so regular people—not just the wealthy—can afford health care, housing & child care.

BREAKING: Pam Bondi FIRED as AG, Trump tells Fox

This is what Democrats have been fighting for since day one. Trump kept saying NO to paying our hardworking TSA agents and other federal workers, all the while Americans unnecessarily suffered. Their incompetence is absolutely unacceptable.

$12 billion and counting for a war Congress never authorized. That's child care for 900,000 kids. Health care for 1.3 million Americans. All while Colorado families can barely afford to put a roof over their heads and food on the table.

Democrats have been fighting to make sure TSA officers get paid — Republicans said no. Now, Trump is sending ICE agents — who are not trained for airport security — to try & fix a problem he created in the first place. This is what incompetence looks like & it puts all of us at risk.
