Becoming nominally OK with AI based parenting simply because some parents seem so far below replacement level that clippy would be an improvement

I haaaate presenting fully remote Can talk in front of hundreds of people no problem but doing it over a webcam just kills my ability to gauge the audience

up for a promotion at work and im gonna get some bougie clothes, been mostly costco duds since covid and i want some nice pants and sweaters again

not really dispelling my stereotypes of pepperdine alumni

😬 Katie Zacharia's first press briefing was brutally bad 😬 Trump managed to find a press secretary who can barely read, but she does have the number one qualification -- looking like Ivanka Here's a supercut from Zacharia's first briefing, which made Karoline Leavitt seem like Ronald Reagan

MN sd13 is near me and is pretty conservative. The GOP primary got heated since the maga guy who won the endorsement (Brutger, lip piercing*) lost the primary and is running a write in campaign *i note this because conservatives on fb keep commenting about "did he get a fishhook stuck in his face?"

the more centrist republican hasn't been campaigning as visibly and is skipping a debate with the DFL guy who is a bearded veteran but the writein candidate is attending I'm crossing my fingers on this one

what a bad visual even if the quality measure is accurate, the y axis is rank-based: they took the rank of top 51 cities and then turned it into a percentile. then they imply being in the middle of that cohort is median quality of life when it's just the mean rank.

Ben Raderstorf@raders.bsky.social

Sacramento is, by these metrics, the best value and some of the highest quality of life anywhere in the west. California incomes and sunshine with Portland’s prices and Denver’s access to nature is I guess a ranking-friendly combo?

I didn't play this correctly, I guess you're supposed to make billable movies but I wanted weird combos I would watch

more than anything else this is why i think democrats need to market a series of hearings and trials as essentially true crime. it is viscerally satisfying to see people like this huff and puff and then get punished anyway. go after them for everything and explain to americans how we've been robbed

Andy Craig@andycraig.bsky.social

They rationalize it, of course. That it's about constitutional principles and not criminalizing politics etc. But on an emotional level they see themselves as potential defendants in the abstract and hate being put on the same level with everyone else in that way. It's "don't you know who I am"-ism.

odd that this whole article neglects to mention she works (worked?) for Patrick Bet David's Valuetainment company (her husband did too)

Huge bummer when you’re just innocently trying to join and promote a movement that hates Black people, immigrants, and Jews — but then you discover that they have a dark side. apple.news/A9g-feRPSTme...

Great to see so many people show up for a DFL candidate in my hometown!

Last night's #FishFryTownHall was special. I grew up in Morrison County. Folks I knew since I was a kid joined us at the VFW in Little Falls. Family was there. Grateful from the bottom of my heart for all the support. Our path to victory lies in the tasks at hand.✌️ #MN07 #WeCanDoBetter

innate dude desire (dudesire?) to make a little guy enjoying a beer my friend group's discord has a guy like this as a mascot: Spudz Litebeer

Jack Grimes@jackapedia.design

Looking at another clipart CD and there is a staggering amount of clipart of "x thing enjoying a beer." Why

Becoming pro-flock since it's a honeypot to weed out bad cops.

Drew Harwell@drewharwell.com

Five cops in Indianapolis were just criminally charged with abusing Flock to spy on their ex-wives, their wives' ex-partners and women they met on duty. Audit was triggered by us at the @washingtonpost.com, the prosecutor said. From last month: wapo.st/4yfNHng

Emmer says Republicans need to talk more about grocery prices that aren't expensive: "Eggs are at pre-pandemic prices. Ah, beef is at, ah, less than $2 a pound for ground beef ... I think we have a lot to run on."

remember when Obama said people should properly inflate their tires to save on gas, not even reduce driving, and we had a national conversation about how he was belittling Americans?

*chokes on own saliva 😂 Ah yes, in a country that designed by force, car dependency into its entire built landscape, making car ownership and driving the first basic requirement to participate in society.

weird leftover sandwich of the day new york strip steak cut very thin broccolini corn cut off the cob w/ chihuahua cheese, black pepper, and mayo on sourdough dipping sauce is a vinegar bbq sauce surprised by the broccolini in a hot sandwich. gets the crunch of lettuce and holds up under heat.

I like the idea of a rogue state of the art agent trying to coordinate a bunch of shitty GPT-2 tier LLMs running on hacked gaming PCs like the genius supervillain with idiot henchman trope

Pwnallthethings@pwnallthethings.bsky.social

The most obvious way is that you could imagine a group of agents that hack into several computers in sequence, but with their "brain" -- the model -- still existing on Anthropic's (or equivalent's) supercomputers. The brain of the operation doesn't "escape", but it can still do a lot of damage

have 2.75 lbs of Dungeness crab for dinner tonight planning to bake/steam in a covered dish in the oven trying to decide what else to eat with it thinking corn either on the cob or creamed still need another side though

thinking a lot lately about how 20th C. technology displaced musicians and wondering how it parallels with today amps made a 5-7 piece combo cheaper than 20 piece band, sousaphones got replaced by basses, only needed 1 trumpet instead of 4 recording enabled casual listening without going out. etc

my org switched to usage pricing for Claude last week I was on the $200 a month max plan before and have $200 of credits a month now I never went over 60% of my weekly usage allowances but I'm at $76.26 spent in four days. Very odd.
